Product Overview

The QSC AD-DWL.SUB is an outdoor landscape subwoofer that adds low-frequency reinforcement to commercial outdoor audio systems built around the AcousticDesign Series Direct Weather satellites. Housing dual 5.25-inch woofers in a weatherized IP55 bollard, this 70/100V landscape subwoofer extends bass response for courtyards, walkways, and campus grounds where full-range output matters. Its elevated bollard design and onboard transformer let it drop into distributed commercial systems alongside the AD-DWL.180 and AD-DWL.360.

Product Description

QSC AD-DWL.SUB direct weather landscape subwoofer

The AD-DWL.SUB is a dual 5.25-inch subwoofer landscape bollard with a built-in transformer, using two weather-resistant cone woofers to deliver 48–200 Hz output in the same ruggedized format as the AcousticDesign Series satellites. Glass-filled polypropylene construction and stainless-steel hardware give it an IP55 ingress rating, and it is engineered for -10 to +60 degrees C plus high humidity and salt mist. The transformer provides 70V taps of 12.5 W, 25 W, 50 W, and 100 W and 100V taps of 25 W, 50 W, and 100 W to balance level against the satellites across a distributed line. Permanent direct-to-concrete or in-earth base supports and tamper-resistant screws suit unattended public installations, and the RAL 6020 green finish is paintable to match surroundings. Intrinsic Correction voicing filter sets are available through Q-SYS or CXD DSP amplifier platforms for QSC-approved tuning and added protection. Pair it with the AD-DWL.180 or AD-DWL.360 for a full-range outdoor system.

Key Features

  • Dual 5.25-Inch Woofers — Two weather-resistant cone woofers deliver 48–200 Hz low-frequency reinforcement for outdoor satellite systems.
  • IP55 Weatherized Construction — Glass-filled polypropylene enclosure and stainless-steel hardware carry an IP55 rating for long-term outdoor use.
  • 70/100V Transformer — Selectable 70V taps (12.5/25/50/100 W) and 100V taps (25/50/100 W) integrate the subwoofer into distributed commercial audio lines.
  • Matched Bollard Format — A common footprint and elevated bollard design align visually and acoustically with the AD-DWL satellites.
  • Tamper-Resistant Installation — Direct-to-concrete or in-earth base supports and tamper-resistant screws protect against theft and abuse in public areas.
  • Intrinsic Correction Voicing — QSC-approved voicing filter sets via Q-SYS or CXD DSP amplifiers speed setup and add overdrive protection.
  • Paintable RAL 6020 Finish — An unobtrusive green finish blends into landscaping and can be painted to match the environment.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship outdoor campuses and gathering areas
  • Government spaces such as civic plazas and parks

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the AD-DWL.SUB add to a landscape system? It provides 48–200 Hz low-frequency reinforcement to complement the AD-DWL.180 and AD-DWL.360 satellites for fuller outdoor sound.

Is it built for permanent outdoor installation? Yes. It is IP55-rated with glass-filled polypropylene construction and stainless-steel hardware, rated for -10 to +60° C plus high humidity and salt mist.

How does it connect to a commercial audio system? The built-in transformer provides 70V and 100V taps for distributed lines and can also run at its 16 Ω nominal impedance.

How many satellites can one subwoofer support? Sizing depends on system level and tap settings; the subwoofer offers higher power taps than the satellites to balance output, and Creation Networks can help with system design.

What about warranty and support? The AD-DWL.SUB is covered under QSC warranty terms; contact Creation Networks support for outdoor system design and AV integration assistance.
