Product Overview
The Poly Studio Large Room Kit for Microsoft Teams Rooms pairs the Poly Studio E70 dual-lens 4K smart camera with a Poly GC8 touch console, supplied as a single ordering line for large conference rooms. It covers the two components that are specific to a large room — a camera with the reach and speaker tracking to work at distance, and an in-room control surface for one-touch join. A room compute PC is not included in this kit and is ordered separately, which lets an organization apply its own Teams Rooms compute standard. Mounting hardware and cabling for the camera ship in the box.
Product Description
Large rooms are where all-in-one video bars stop working well. Participants sit further from the display than a single wide-angle sensor can usefully frame, and a fixed bar has no way to hold the whole room and the active speaker at the same time. The Studio E70 in this kit solves that with two 20 MP sensors working together — a 120° horizontal field of view lens holding the full room and a 70° lens framing whoever is speaking — driven by Poly DirectorAI people, group, and speaker framing, with 7.3x digital zoom and coverage to roughly 25 ft. A DirectorAI perimeter setting lets an integrator exclude glass walls and corridor traffic from the tracking zone, which matters in large rooms with open sightlines.
The Poly GC8 touch console provides the in-room control surface: meeting join, call control, content share, and camera control from the table rather than from a laptop. The kit ships the E70 camera, the GC8 console, a USB Type-C cable, an Ethernet cable, and a wall mount kit, so the camera install needs no additional mounting hardware in a standard wall or display-mount position. The camera measures 321 x 102 x 89.1 mm at 907 g and runs on either the supplied external adapter or Power over Ethernet at 802.3af, 15.4 W, Class 3, which usually makes a single structured cable the cleanest run to a wall-mounted position.
Two things need specifying alongside this kit. The first is compute: add a Teams Rooms certified room PC such as the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 or the Poly Room PC for Microsoft Teams Rooms, or run the room on a Poly Studio G62 modular codec if a Windows PC is not wanted in the space. The second is audio: the E70 is a camera and carries no microphones or speakers, so a large room needs a certified USB audio device, a DSP, or ceiling and table microphones sized to the space. A Poly Studio table microphone extends table pickup, and Poly IP ceiling and tabletop microphones are supported where the room calls for overhead coverage. If the room needs a wall-mounted controller instead of a table console, a Poly TC10 touch controller is the alternative. Poly components are managed through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
Key Features
- Studio E70 Dual-Lens Camera — Two 20 MP sensors at 120° and 70° horizontal field of view hold the full room and frame the active speaker at the same time.
- DirectorAI Smart Framing — People, group, and speaker framing follow the conversation automatically, with a perimeter setting that excludes glass walls and corridor traffic from tracking.
- Poly GC8 Touch Console — Puts meeting join, call control, content share, and camera control on the table rather than on a participant's laptop.
- 25 ft Coverage — Reaches participants seated well back from the display, which is where a single-sensor video bar runs out of usable framing.
- Mounting Hardware Included — Ships with a wall mount kit, USB Type-C cable, and Ethernet cable so a standard camera install needs no additional parts.
- PoE or Adapter Power — The camera runs on 802.3af PoE at 15.4 W Class 3 or the supplied adapter, letting one structured cable serve a wall-mounted position.
- Compute Standard Stays Open — No room PC is bundled, so an organization can apply its own certified Teams Rooms compute standard across the estate.
- Certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms — Purpose-built and certified for Teams Rooms deployment, giving one-touch join and calendar integration once compute is added.
- Poly Lens Management — Camera and console are managed through HP Poly Lens alongside the Microsoft Teams Admin Center for remote health monitoring and firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this kit include a room PC?
No. The kit supplies the Studio E70 camera and GC8 touch console. A Microsoft Teams Rooms certified compute unit is ordered separately — the Poly Mini IP Conference PC G9 or the Poly Room PC for Microsoft Teams Rooms are the usual choices. Leaving compute out lets an organization apply one standard image and management policy across every room.
Does the kit include room audio?
No. The Studio E70 is a camera and carries no microphones or speakers. A large room needs a certified USB audio device, a DSP, or ceiling and table microphones sized to the space. Budget audio as a separate line item and size it to the seating count, not the room's square footage alone.
What room size is this kit intended for?
Large conference rooms, boardrooms, and training rooms where participants sit up to roughly 25 ft from the display. In smaller rooms an all-in-one video bar is usually more economical; this kit earns its cost where audience distance and speaker tracking exceed what a single sensor can handle.
Can we run this as an appliance instead of with a Windows PC?
Yes. The Studio E70 also operates as the camera for a Poly modular codec such as the Poly Studio G62 or Poly G7500, which runs the room natively and removes Windows patching and endpoint management from the space. The GC8 console is a Teams Rooms control surface, so confirm the control path with Creation Networks if you take the appliance route.
How is the camera mounted and powered?
A wall mount kit ships in the box along with USB Type-C and Ethernet cables. The camera runs on either the supplied external adapter or Power over Ethernet at 802.3af, 15.4 W, Class 3, so a wall-mounted position can usually be served by a single structured cable.
Can we add more microphone coverage later?
Yes. Poly IP ceiling and tabletop microphones and Poly Studio table microphones can be added to extend pickup as a room's seating layout changes, which is a common requirement in multi-purpose and training spaces.
How is the room managed after deployment?
Poly components report to HP Poly Lens for health monitoring, firmware, and remote troubleshooting, while the Teams Rooms configuration itself is administered through the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
What warranty and support are included?
Poly hardware carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the right coverage tier across the full room build.
