Product Overview
The Poly CCX 600 Open SIP desk phone is the executive-class member of the CCX family running standards-based SIP firmware rather than a single vendor's cloud client. Part number 82Z85AA pairs a 7-inch 1024 x 600 color touchscreen with support for up to 24 lines or SIP registrations and is PoE-enabled, so the phone takes power and voice from one Ethernet drop and ships without an AC adapter. Open SIP makes it the right endpoint for hosted UCaaS providers, on-premises IP-PBX platforms, and multi-tenant service-provider estates where one hardware SKU must register against many different call platforms. Integrators specify it for manager and executive desks that need more visible line appearances than a 5-inch phone can present.
Product Description
This SKU is defined by two choices: Open SIP firmware and PoE-only power. The Open SIP build implements SIP per IETF RFC 3261 and companion RFCs along with SDP, RTP, RTCP, and SRTP, and it carries the operational features that carriers and large integrators actually depend on — FTP, TFTP, HTTP, and HTTPS server-based central provisioning for mass deployments, DHCP or manual network setup, DNS-SRV lookups, and provisioning and call server redundancy. A phone can be staged from a config server, drop-shipped to a branch, and register itself on first boot without a technician on site.
PoE-only is the second half of the specification. The phone draws power from the access switch, which keeps each desk to a single cable and removes the AC adapter from the bill of materials in buildings with PoE throughout. Sites without PoE coverage at every desk should either add the Poly 25W power supply to the order or specify the CCX 600 Open SIP part number that ships with a North American power supply already in the box. Government and public-sector buyers with Trade Agreements Act obligations should specify the GSA/TAA Open SIP CCX 600 part number instead, since only that SKU carries the compliance documentation.
The hardware itself is built for sustained call handling. A 7-inch multi-touch LCD at 1024 x 600 with on-screen virtual keyboard, adjustable font sizing, and dark mode makes 24 line appearances readable rather than nominal, and an adjustable base height sets viewing angle for a seated desk or a raised counter. Poly HD Voice and Acoustic Clarity deliver TIA-920 wideband audio from 100 Hz to 20 kHz across handset, speakerphone, and headset paths; Poly Acoustic Fence removes background noise on the handset and wired headset, and NoiseBlockAI does the same on the speakerphone. Bluetooth 4.2, a USB Type-A 2.0 port, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, and a dedicated RJ-9 jack cover the existing headset fleet, and a two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch spanning LAN and PC ports lets the workstation share the drop. High-volume desks add the Poly CCX EM60 expansion module, wall installs use the Poly CCX 600/700 wall mount bracket, and shared rooms on the same SIP platform take a Poly Trio C60 conference phone.
Key Features
- Open SIP Firmware — IETF SIP per RFC 3261 with SDP, RTP, RTCP, and SRTP lets one hardware SKU register against hosted UCaaS, on-premises IP-PBX, and service-provider platforms alike.
- Provisioning and Call Server Redundancy — Central provisioning over FTP, TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS with DNS-SRV lookups supports mass staging and failover between call servers.
- PoE Powered, No Adapter Required — The phone takes power from the access switch, keeping each desk to a single cable in buildings with PoE throughout.
- 7-Inch Color Touchscreen — A 1024 x 600 multi-touch LCD with virtual keyboard and adjustable font sizing makes 24 line appearances genuinely workable.
- Up to 24 Lines — Support for 24 line appearances or SIP registrations suits executives, assistants, and shared-line arrangements.
- Poly HD Voice with Acoustic Clarity — TIA-920 wideband audio from 100 Hz to 20 kHz with full-duplex echo cancellation on handset, speakerphone, and headset.
- Poly Acoustic Fence and NoiseBlockAI — Acoustic Fence removes background noise on the handset and wired headset while NoiseBlockAI suppresses it on the speakerphone.
- Two-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch — LAN and PC ports let the workstation connect through the phone, keeping one switch port per desk.
- Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 — 802.11a/b/g/n on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz plus Bluetooth headset pairing for desks the cabling never reached.
- Enterprise Security — IEEE 802.1X with EAPOL, SRTP media encryption, encrypted configuration files, HTTPS secure provisioning, and signed software executables.
- Accessibility Compliance — Hearing aid compatibility to ITU-T P.370 and TIA 504A, ADA Section 508 Subpart B 1194.23, and TTY adapter support.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this phone ship with a power supply?
No. Part number 82Z85AA is the PoE-enabled Open SIP model and ships without an AC adapter. If the site does not have PoE at every desk, either add the Poly 25W power supply to the order or specify the CCX 600 Open SIP SKU that includes a North American power supply.
Which call platforms does the Open SIP firmware work with?
Any platform implementing standard SIP. The phone supports IETF SIP per RFC 3261 and companion RFCs, SDP, RTP, RTCP, and SRTP, which covers hosted UCaaS providers and on-premises IP-PBX systems. It is not the Microsoft Teams-native build; that is a separate part number.
How are hundreds of phones provisioned across multiple sites?
Through server-based central provisioning over FTP, TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS, with DHCP network setup and DNS-SRV lookups. The phone also supports provisioning and call server redundancy, so a staged unit can register itself on first boot without an on-site technician.
Is there a TAA-compliant version for government procurement?
Yes. The GSA/TAA CCX 600 Open SIP carries its own part number with Trade Agreements Act sourcing documentation. Specify that SKU when the contract vehicle imposes a TAA clause — this commercial part number will not satisfy it.
How does it integrate with a segmented voice network?
It supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging with 802.1p and Layer 3 TOS marking, VLAN assignment via CDP, DHCP VLAN discovery, or LLDP-MED, and IEEE 802.1X authentication with EAPOL for port-based access control. Media can be encrypted with SRTP.
Can the workstation share the phone's network drop?
Yes. The two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch spans LAN and PC ports at 10/100/1000 Base-TX, so an existing one-drop-per-desk cabling plan supports both devices without adding switch ports.
Can a busy dispatch or reception desk get more line keys?
Yes. The Poly CCX EM60 expansion module attaches to the CCX 600 and adds programmable line keys with busy-lamp fields, turning the phone into a workable attendant station.
What warranty and support are included?
The phone carries the Poly one-year limited warranty. HP Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage and advance hardware replacement; contact Creation Networks for the right tier for a multi-site deployment.
