Product Overview

The Poly Trio C60 Open SIP conference phone (849B4AA#ABA) is a smart IP conference phone for medium and large conference rooms that register to a standards-based IP PBX or a hosted SIP provider rather than to Microsoft Teams. Three MEMS microphones give 360-degree pickup out to a 20 ft range, and optional expansion microphones daisy-chain up to three units for longer boardroom tables. This Full Radio configuration includes dual-band Wi-Fi and integrated Bluetooth alongside a two-port gigabit switch, and the phone draws IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE on LAN IN. Bundled Polycom UC Software supports up to three lines, so one console can serve a shared room extension and an executive line.

Product Description

Poly ships the Trio C60 in two firmware configurations on identical hardware, and the order code is what separates them. This SKU, 849B4AA#ABA, is the Open SIP build: HP's specification sheet lists it as Open SIP certified with Zoom support and bundled Polycom UC Software for up to three lines, of which a maximum of one may be Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams. Rooms that need the native Microsoft Teams interface and one-touch Teams join should be ordered under the Teams part number instead. Full technical detail is in the Poly Trio C60 data sheet.

Plan the power first. LAN IN is an auto-sensing IEEE 802.3at Class 4 powered device, so a switch port budgeted at Class 3 will not bring the console up reliably; where PoE is unavailable in the room, specify the Poly Trio C60 power supply kit. The two RJ-45 ports form a 10/100/1000BASE-TX switch and LAN OUT is auto-sensing 802.3af power sourcing equipment, which lets a room PC or a second device share the phone's drop. For table installs where the cable runs through a grommet, the Poly Trio RJ45 shielded CAT-5 cable in 2 m and 7.6 m are the vendor-supplied lengths. Provisioning and network policy are covered by Poly Zero Touch Provisioning, HTTPS secure provisioning, 802.1X authentication and TLS 1.2, with fleet management through Poly Lens.

Coverage scales with the Poly Trio C60 expansion microphones, which daisy-chain up to three from the console; the Trio 8300/8800 expansion microphones are a different accessory and do not fit the C60. The Trio C60 is equally useful as an audio peripheral: the USB 2.0 Micro-B device port lets it work as a USB audio device and content-sharing input for a room PC, and Poly's VideoOS compatibility guide lists Trio as a supported audio device for the Poly G7500 codec and Poly Studio room systems in Poly Video mode. Note the constraint that Trio cannot be used when the room system runs Wi-Fi as its primary network.

Key Features

  • Open SIP Firmware — The phone registers to any standards-based IP PBX or hosted SIP service, which keeps the room independent of a single cloud platform.
  • Three-Line Support — Bundled Polycom UC Software supports up to three lines, with a maximum of one Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams line among them.
  • Three MEMS Microphones, 20 ft Pickup — A 360-degree array covers a 6.1 m radius, which suits most medium and large conference room tables without additional hardware.
  • Expansion Microphone Support — Up to three Poly Trio C series expansion microphones daisy-chain from the console to extend pickup down a long boardroom table.
  • Class 4 PoE In, 802.3af Out — LAN IN accepts IEEE 802.3at Class 4 power and LAN OUT re-supplies 802.3af, so one cable drop can serve the phone and a downstream device.
  • Full Radio Configuration — Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi plus integrated Bluetooth allow deployment where pulling a new data drop is impractical.
  • USB Audio Device Mode — The USB 2.0 Micro-B device port lets the phone act as a USB speakerphone and content-sharing input for a connected room PC.
  • 100–22,000 Hz Frequency Response — Wideband audio across the full speech range keeps remote participants intelligible on long calls.
  • Enterprise Security and Provisioning — 802.1X authentication, TLS 1.2, HTTPS secure provisioning and Poly Zero Touch Provisioning fit standard corporate network policy.
  • Poly Lens Management — Cloud device management gives IT remote configuration, firmware control and health monitoring across a fleet of rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this SKU different from the Microsoft Teams Trio C60 at the same price?
The hardware is identical; the order code sets the firmware configuration. 849B4AA#ABA is the Open SIP build, certified for standards-based SIP registration with Zoom support and up to three UC Software lines. The Teams build, ordered under a different part number, runs the native Microsoft Teams interface instead. Both are Full Radio and PoE-enabled.

Will it register to my IP PBX or hosted provider?
The phone is Open SIP certified and connects to a compatible IP PBX or hosted SIP service. Confirm your provider's supported device list and the UC Software release they certify before deployment, since feature sets such as busy lamp field and shared line appearance vary by platform.

What PoE budget should I allocate on the switch port?
LAN IN is an auto-sensing IEEE 802.3at Class 4 powered device, so the port needs a full Class 4 allocation rather than a Class 3 budget. Because LAN OUT is itself 802.3af power sourcing equipment, leave headroom in the switch budget if a downstream device will be powered through the phone.

How many expansion microphones can I add, and when are they needed?
Up to three Poly Trio C60 expansion microphones daisy-chain from the console. The built-in array covers a 20 ft radius, so expansion microphones are typically specified for boardrooms and long tables where seats fall outside that range.

Can the Trio C60 be used as a USB speakerphone or paired with a Poly room system?
Yes to both. The USB 2.0 Micro-B device port allows USB audio device operation with a room PC, and Poly's VideoOS compatibility guide lists Trio as a supported audio device for G7500 and Poly Studio systems in Poly Video mode. Trio cannot be used when the room system runs Wi-Fi as its primary network, so verify the room's cabling before specifying that pairing.

Is a No Radio version available for secure facilities?
This part is the Full Radio configuration with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Poly publishes separate No Radio order codes for the Trio C60, including GSA/TAA variants, which are the correct choice where wireless radios are prohibited.

How is the phone provisioned across multiple rooms?
Poly Zero Touch Provisioning and HTTPS secure provisioning handle first-boot configuration, and Poly Lens provides cloud inventory, firmware management and health monitoring. The phone supports 802.1X authentication and TLS 1.2 for networks that enforce port-based access control.

What warranty and support coverage are included?
The unit carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the right coverage tier for your deployment.
