The Meyer Sound ACHERON-80 is a self-powered two-way cinema screen channel loudspeaker for the left, center, and right channels behind perforated cinema screens. Its 80° horizontal by 50° vertical horn makes it well suited to narrower theaters and re-recording stages. The fixed horn design delivers an accurate acoustic crossover and a consistent vertical pattern across the operating range. With a 38 Hz to 17 kHz frequency response and 135 dB linear peak SPL, it reproduces demanding digital soundtracks with wide dynamic range and full fidelity.

Product Description

Part of Meyer Sound's EXP cinema product line, the ACHERON-80 pairs self-powered technology with a horn purpose-built for cinema, featuring a soft roll-off outside its well-behaved coverage angle. The 580 Hz crossover point places most of the dialog in the horn, an arrangement ideal for screen channel reproduction. Transducers include one 15-inch low-frequency neodymium cone driver and one 4-inch diaphragm compression driver, driven by a proprietary two-channel class AB/H amplifier producing 3370 W peak. For larger rooms, the ACHERON-80 can be daisy-chained with the Meyer Sound ACHERON-LF screen channel subwoofer to add low-frequency headroom, and it integrates with the X-800C cinema subwoofer for LFE. The 3/8-inch threaded points on the cabinet corners allow floor mounting with uptilt or downtilt, or stacking on the ACHERON-LF, using optional brackets.
