Product Overview

The Meyer Sound ULTRA-X82 (Milan) is a self-powered point source loudspeaker configured for Milan AVB networked audio in longer-throw installed and portable systems. Its narrower 50-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical pattern concentrates output for deep audience areas in auditoriums, houses of worship, and multi-purpose performance spaces. Dual 12-inch long-excursion drivers and a 4-inch diaphragm compression driver deliver high SPL with the tonal accuracy of the Meyer Sound point source line. Onboard amplification, processing, and a Milan-certified digital input make it a complete networked loudspeaker in a single enclosure.

Product Description

Meyer Sound ULTRA-X82 Milan 2x12-inch active point source loudspeaker

This Milan configuration of the ULTRA-X82 provides a tighter 50-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical pattern from its rotatable horn, suiting longer throws and rooms where pattern control limits reflections. It pairs two 12-inch long-excursion cone drivers with a single 4-inch diaphragm compression driver in a premium multi-ply birch enclosure with a textured black finish and powder-coated steel grille. Both standard analog and AVB/Milan-certified digital audio inputs are provided, supporting deterministic networked audio distribution. For wider coverage in shorter rooms, the Meyer Sound ULTRA-X80 offers a 95-degree horizontal pattern, and the broader range is available through the Meyer Sound collection. Low-frequency extension can be added with a companion subwoofer such as the Meyer Sound 750-LFC. Integrated amplification and telemetry make it a self-contained networked loudspeaker for demanding applications.

Key Features

  • Milan AVB Networking — Milan-certified digital input supports deterministic, low-latency networked audio distribution.
  • 50-degree Horizontal Coverage — The narrower 50-degree by 40-degree pattern concentrates output for longer throws and deep audience areas.
  • Point Source Design — A unified two-way point source format delivers consistent coverage and predictable pattern control.
  • Dual 12-inch Low Frequency — Two 12-inch long-excursion cone drivers provide substantial low-frequency output and headroom.
  • Rotatable Horn — The 4-inch diaphragm compression driver mounts to a rotatable horn for horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • Self-Powered — Onboard amplification and signal processing make the loudspeaker a complete system in a single enclosure.
  • Loudspeaker Telemetry — Telemetry transmitted over the Ethernet port allows remote monitoring in Meyer Sound software.

Typical Applications

  • Auditorium and performing arts reinforcement
  • House of worship main and longer-throw systems
  • Multi-purpose performance rooms
  • Government and civic assembly spaces
