Product Overview

The Meyer Sound ULTRA-X80 is a versatile self-powered point source loudspeaker designed for permanent installation and portable reinforcement in large rooms and venues. With 95-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical coverage, it delivers wide, even pattern control for auditoriums, houses of worship, and multi-purpose performance spaces. Its dual 12-inch low-frequency section and 4-inch diaphragm compression driver produce high output with the tonal accuracy associated with the Meyer Sound point source line. Onboard amplification and processing make it a complete loudspeaker system in a single enclosure.

Product Description

Meyer Sound ULTRA-X80 versatile point source loudspeaker

The ULTRA-X80 pairs two 12-inch long-excursion cone drivers with a single 4-inch diaphragm compression driver mounted to a rotatable horn, allowing the 95-degree by 40-degree pattern to be oriented for either horizontal or vertical deployment. The enclosure is built from premium multi-ply birch with a textured black finish and a powder-coated steel grille. Standard analog and digital audio inputs are both provided, with the digital path being AVB and Milan certified for networked system integration. For tighter pattern control in longer-throw applications, the Meyer Sound ULTRA-X82 offers a narrower 50-degree horizontal coverage, and additional models are available through the Meyer Sound collection. Low-frequency extension can be added with a companion subwoofer such as the Meyer Sound 750-LFC. The integrated amplification and telemetry provide a complete, self-contained loudspeaker for demanding installed and touring systems.

Key Features

  • Point Source Design — A unified two-way point source format delivers consistent coverage and predictable pattern control across the listening area.
  • 95-degree Horizontal Coverage — The wide 95-degree by 40-degree pattern suits broad audience areas in auditoriums and worship spaces.
  • Dual 12-inch Low Frequency — Two 12-inch long-excursion cone drivers provide substantial low-frequency output and headroom.
  • Rotatable Horn — The 4-inch diaphragm compression driver mounts to a rotatable horn for flexible horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • Self-Powered — Onboard amplification and signal processing make the loudspeaker a complete system in a single enclosure.
  • Analog and Digital Inputs — Standard analog XLR and AVB/Milan-certified digital inputs support both conventional and networked audio.
  • Loudspeaker Telemetry — Telemetry transmitted over the Ethernet port allows remote monitoring in Meyer Sound software.

Typical Applications

  • House of worship main and fill systems
  • Auditorium and performing arts reinforcement
  • Multi-purpose and multi-purpose performance rooms
  • Government and civic assembly spaces

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ULTRA-X80 self-powered?
Yes. Amplification and signal processing are built into the enclosure, so no external amplifier is required.

What is the coverage pattern?
The ULTRA-X80 provides 95-degree horizontal by 40-degree vertical coverage, and the horn is rotatable for horizontal or vertical orientation.

Does it support networked audio?
Yes. It provides a standard analog XLR input plus an AVB, Milan-certified digital input over a Neutrik etherCON connection.

Can I add a subwoofer?
Yes. A companion subwoofer such as the Meyer Sound 750-LFC can extend low-frequency response for full-range systems.
