Product Overview
The Meyer Sound ULTRA-X22 is the narrow-coverage member of the ULTRA-X20 family, a compact self-powered point-source loudspeaker engineered for installed AV applications that require tighter pattern control. Its rotatable 80° x 50° constant-Q horn delivers focused coverage for longer-throw seating, narrow rooms, and applications where adjacent-zone spill must be minimized. Two 5-inch low-frequency drivers and a 2-inch compression driver are powered by an internal three-channel Class-D amplifier. The analog 3-pin input and Intelligent AC supply make it a complete, install-ready reinforcement solution.
Product Description

The ULTRA-X22 shares the enclosure and electronics of the ULTRA-X20 but is fitted with a tighter 80° x 50° constant-Q horn for more controlled directivity. A concentric driver configuration provides coaxial-style point-source behavior with directional control of frequencies down to 600 Hz, while phase-corrected electronics maintain flat amplitude and phase response for accurate imaging. The analog input accepts a balanced XLR 3-pin signal with male loop output, and the loudspeaker auto-selects its operating voltage through Meyer Sound's Intelligent AC supply. For wider coverage, compare the ULTRA-X20; for the broad 110° x 110° pattern, see the ULTRA-X23, or browse the full Meyer Sound range. Pair with a 750-LFC to extend low-frequency output.
Key Features
- Narrow 80° x 50° Coverage — A rotatable constant-Q horn delivers tighter directivity for longer throws and reduced adjacent-zone spill.
- Concentric Driver Configuration — Two 5-inch cone drivers and a 2-inch compression driver provide point-source performance with directional control down to 600 Hz.
- High Output — Delivers a linear peak SPL of 128.5 dB measured with M-noise at a 20 dB crest factor.
- Self-Powered Three-Channel Amplifier — An onboard Class-D amplifier delivers 860 W peak with integrated crossover, correction filters, and driver protection.
- Intelligent AC Power Supply — Automatic voltage selection from 90–265 V AC with transient suppression, EMI filtering, and soft-start power-up.
- Compact Aluminum Enclosure — A 27 lb (12.3 kg) vented aluminum cabinet with textured black finish suits size- and weight-critical installations.
- Flexible Rigging — Integral M8 points on each end plus rear M6 threaded holes support pole, yoke, U-bracket, wall, and ceiling mounting.
Typical Applications
- House of Worship — Focused coverage supports longer-throw sanctuary seating with controlled spill onto walls and adjacent zones.
- Conference Room — Tighter directivity delivers consistent voice reinforcement in narrow or acoustically sensitive rooms.
- Auditorium — Controlled pattern supports deeper seating areas with predictable point-source behavior.
- Multi-Purpose Room — Flexible rigging and focused coverage adapt to reconfigurable event and assembly spaces.
- Training Room — Clear, directional output supports instructional audio and AV playback.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the ULTRA-X22 differ from the ULTRA-X20 and ULTRA-X23?
All three share the same enclosure and electronics. The ULTRA-X22 is the narrow 80° x 50° model, the ULTRA-X20 is the wide 110° x 50° model, and the ULTRA-X23 is the broad 110° x 110° model.
When should I choose the narrow ULTRA-X22?
Choose it where tighter directivity is needed for longer throws, narrow rooms, or to control sound spill onto reflective surfaces and adjacent zones.
Is the ULTRA-X22 self-powered?
Yes. It contains a three-channel Class-D amplifier rated at 860 W peak with integrated crossover, correction filtering, and driver protection.
Can the ULTRA-X22 be remotely monitored?
Yes. The analog version accepts an optional RMS module that reports operating parameters to a host computer running Compass Control Software via an RMServer hardware unit.
Is the ULTRA-X22 covered by warranty?
Yes. It is covered under Meyer Sound's standard product warranty. For details, please contact us.
