The Meyer Sound ACHERON-STUDIO-YM is a compact, self-powered two-way cinema screen channel loudspeaker supplied with side rigging attachment points and the MYA-AST mounting yoke for suspended installation. A more compact version of the ACHERON 80, it serves the left, center, and right channels behind perforated screens in mid-size theaters, re-recording stages, custom private theaters, and postproduction mix facilities. It offers the same 38 Hz to 17 kHz frequency response as the ACHERON 80 with a 131.5 dB linear peak SPL and very low distortion. Convection cooling allows fanless, quiet operation in critical listening rooms.

Product Description

This yoke-equipped version of the ACHERON Studio uses the same patented horn technology developed for the ACHERON 80, with a soft roll-off outside its 80° horizontal by 50° vertical coverage pattern. The horn is fixed within the enclosure to ensure an accurate acoustic crossover, phase response, and consistent vertical pattern, with a 580 Hz crossover that places most of the dialog in the horn. Transducers include one 15-inch low-frequency cone driver and one 4-inch diaphragm compression driver, driven by a two-channel class AB/bridged amplifier producing 700 W. It integrates with HMS surround loudspeakers and the X-400C and X-800C cinema subwoofers. Additional Meyer Sound cinema products are available in the Meyer Sound collection. The included MYA-AST yoke and side attachment points allow the loudspeaker to be suspended where floor placement is not practical.
