The Meyer Sound ACHERON-LF is a self-powered cinema screen channel subwoofer designed exclusively to extend the low-frequency headroom of ACHERON 80 and ACHERON 100 screen channel loudspeakers in larger theaters. Housing dual 15-inch drivers, it operates from 37 Hz to 370 Hz and delivers a 133 dB linear peak SPL. Its frequency and phase responses are tailored to complement the ACHERON loudspeakers, converting each into a column of three aligned low-frequency drivers. The result is roughly 10 dB of additional low-frequency headroom on the LCR channels, depending on room and loading conditions.

Product Description

The ACHERON-LF uses a multi-way, gradated design in which all drivers are active at the lowest frequencies, with each rolling off one at a time via the integral active crossover. This technique eliminates interference between drivers at shorter wavelengths, maintaining ideal polar, phase, and frequency response through the low and low-mid range. It shares the same high-power 15-inch cone driver and rectangular footprint as the ACHERON, and is powered by a two-channel class AB/H amplifier producing 4500 W peak. It is intended to pair with the ACHERON-100 or ACHERON-80 screen channels, and complements the X-800C cinema subwoofer used for LFE.
