The Listen Technologies LA-82 is a 6-way RF antenna combiner, allowing up to six RF assistive listening transmitters to share a single antenna. Venues running multiple simultaneous channels — a main programme feed plus several interpretation languages — need one transmitter per channel, and running an antenna for each is neither practical nor electrically sound. The combiner is what makes a multi-channel RF installation work.
Product Description
Multi-channel RF assistive listening requires one transmitter per channel. A conference venue running four interpretation languages alongside the floor feed needs five transmitters.
Running a separate antenna for each is the obvious approach and the wrong one: adjacent antennas interfere with each other, coverage becomes unpredictable, and the installation multiplies cable runs and mounting points for no benefit.
The LA-82 combines up to six transmitter outputs onto one antenna feed, so coverage is defined by a single antenna position and the RF environment stays predictable. Where only four transmitters are involved, the 4-way combiner is the appropriate part. Antenna cable is ordered separately: RG-58 for shorter runs or low-loss RG-8 where the antenna is remote.
