Product Overview
The Listen Technologies LA-113-500 is a 500 ft spool of RG-8 50 ohm coaxial cable for RF assistive listening antenna runs. In a stationary RF installation the antenna is positioned for coverage rather than convenience, which means a cable run between the transmitter rack and the antenna position. The low-loss RG-8 construction is specified where that run is long enough for signal loss to matter. Supplied on a spool for field termination to the required length.

Antenna placement determines RF coverage far more than transmitter power does, so the antenna goes where the coverage is needed and the cable follows.
Cable loss accumulates over distance and rises with frequency. RG-8 has lower loss per foot than RG-58, which is why it is specified for longer runs. On a short run the difference is immaterial and RG-58 is the economical choice; on a long run to a remote antenna position, RG-8 preserves signal that RG-58 would lose.
Supplied on a spool for field termination. Terminate with RG-8 BNC connectors, and use a BNC coupler where two runs have to be joined.
Where several transmitters share a single antenna, specify a 4-way or 6-way RF antenna combiner rather than running parallel antennas, which will interfere.
