Product Overview
The Listen Technologies LA-115 is a BNC coupler that joins two BNC-terminated coaxial runs without re-terminating either end. RF assistive listening installations run 50 ohm coaxial cable from the transmitter to a remote antenna, and that run almost always needs terminating or joining on site. It is a stock item on any Listen RF installation.
Product Description
Antenna position governs RF coverage, so the antenna goes where coverage is needed and cable follows. That run gets terminated at both ends, and frequently joined where a pull came up short or a wall plate breaks it.
Match the connector to the cable: RG-58 and RG-8 take different connector bodies, and fitting the wrong one produces a joint that passes a continuity test and degrades the antenna path.
Keep the number of joints in an antenna run to a minimum. Where a join is unavoidable, a coupler is preferable to cutting and re-terminating. Where several transmitters share one antenna, an RF combiner is required rather than parallel antennas.
