What is the Kramer VM-4DT distribution amplifier?
The Kramer VM-4DT is a 1:4 4K60 4:2:0 long-reach HDBaseT distribution amplifier. It takes one native HDBaseT input, equalizes and reclocks it, and distributes it to four identical HDBaseT outputs, re-extending the signal on each side. It is used to distribute HDBaseT signals to multiple remote displays in large rooms across corporate, education, hospitality and government facilities.
How does the Kramer VM-4DT work?
The VM-4DT sits mid-way between an HDBaseT transmitter and multiple remote HDBaseT receivers. It accepts a native long-reach HDBaseT signal and distributes it to four HDBaseT outputs with up to 4K video resolution, extending a 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 24bpp signal up to 40m (130ft) on each side and up to 70m (230ft) at 1080p. Because it works with any HDBaseT-compliant extension product, it fits existing HDBaseT infrastructure.
The HDMI signal carried is HDCP 1.4 compliant and supports deep color, x.v.Color, lip sync, 7.1 PCM, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, 2K, 4K and 3D as specified in HDMI 2.0. EDID and CEC (OUT 1 only) pass from source to display, and Kramer I-EDIDPro handles EDID for plug-and-play operation. An EDID setup button and status LEDs for inputs, outputs and power support maintenance. The half-width 19-inch 1U enclosure mounts two side-by-side in one rack space.
