Product Overview

The Poly G7500 EagleEye IV 4x GSA/TAA system (842T9AA#ABA) is the shorter-room government configuration of the G7500 modular platform, bundling the 4K UHD codec, an EagleEye IV 4x optical zoom PTZ camera, a Poly TC8 touch controller, and a Poly IP tabletop microphone. The 4x camera is the deliberate difference from the 12x configurations: in a medium government conference room where the camera and the far end of the table are a normal distance apart, 4x optical zoom is sufficient reach and the SKU costs less per room across a multi-site rollout. GSA/TAA compliance makes it directly citable on a federal solicitation. The codec is certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom with standards-based H.323 and SIP for existing agency infrastructure.

Product Description

Camera reach is the specification that should decide between this SKU and the 12x versions. The EagleEye IV 4x provides 1080p video with 4x optical zoom, pan, and tilt, which comfortably frames participants in a medium conference room or a standard-size briefing space. Once the far end of the table sits well beyond about 20 ft. from the camera position, the 12x configuration is the better technical answer because it reaches that distance optically rather than by cropping. Choosing the 4x build for rooms that genuinely fit it keeps unit cost down without compromising the image, which matters when the same design is being replicated across a portfolio of similar rooms on one contract.

The rest of the system is the full G7500 platform. The codec encodes and decodes with H.264 AVC, H.264 High Profile, and H.265, with people video up to 4K at 30 fps and content input and output up to UHD 3840 x 2160 at 5 to 60 fps. Two HDMI outputs support a people-plus-content display pair and one HDMI input accepts a room PC or presenter laptop. The bundled Poly IP tabletop microphone connects over standard Ethernet and draws PoE+ from one of the codec's three dedicated 10/100/1G LAN ports, with two more ports available for additional table or ceiling arrays at roughly 20 ft. of pickup range each. Poly NoiseBlockAI and Poly Acoustic Fence keep non-speech noise and out-of-zone voices off the transmitted signal.

For network accreditation and AV integration, media encryption uses AES-128 and AES-256 with H.235.6, management runs over TLS 1.0 through 1.2 with authenticated administrative access, and the codec supports IPv4 and IPv6. RS-232 and a REST API expose the codec to a third-party control processor, and up to three HDMI or USB cameras can be connected with source switching from the touch interface, so a second camera can be added later without replacing the codec. HP Poly Lens handles fleet firmware and configuration. Companion items commonly ordered alongside this system are the Poly EagleEye IV camera mounting bracket, a Poly IP ceiling microphone array for rooms that cannot use table microphones, and a spare Poly TC8 touch controller. Smaller government rooms that do not warrant a modular codec are often better served by the Poly Studio G62 GSA/TAA system.

Key Features

  • EagleEye IV 4x Optical Zoom — Optical zoom with pan and tilt sized for medium conference rooms, where 12x reach would be paid for and unused.
  • GSA/TAA Compliant Build — The 842T9AA part number is sourced to meet Trade Agreements Act requirements and can be cited directly on a federal solicitation.
  • Complete Room Bundle — Codec, EagleEye IV 4x camera, TC8 touch controller, and IP tabletop microphone arrive under one contract line item.
  • 4K UHD Modular Codec — H.264 AVC, H.264 High Profile, and H.265 deliver people video up to 4K at 30 fps and content up to 3840 x 2160.
  • Upgrade Path Preserved — The codec accepts up to three HDMI or USB cameras, so a longer-reach camera can be added later without replacing the room platform.
  • Included TC8 Touch Controller — An 8-inch PoE tabletop panel provides one-touch join and in-room control from the table.
  • PoE+ IP Microphone Ports — Three dedicated LAN ports power up to three IP microphone arrays over standard Ethernet, each covering roughly 20 ft. of pickup range.
  • AES-256 Media Encryption — AES-128 and AES-256 with H.235.6 and TLS 1.0 through 1.2 support the security review that precedes network accreditation.
  • Standards-Based Interoperability — H.323 and SIP calling at up to 6 Mbps registers the room to existing agency gatekeepers, registrars, and bridges.
  • Poly Lens Fleet Management — Cloud configuration and firmware distribution keep a repeated room design on one baseline across facilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should the 4x camera be chosen over the 12x?
Choose the 4x in medium conference rooms where the camera position and the farthest seat are a normal distance apart. Once that distance grows well beyond about 20 ft., the 12x configuration reaches optically instead of relying on a digital crop, and the image quality difference becomes visible on the far end. Matching the camera to the actual room geometry keeps per-room cost down on a repeated design.

What does GSA/TAA compliant mean for this SKU?
The Trade Agreements Act restricts federal purchases to products manufactured or substantially transformed in the United States or a designated country, and GSA schedule contracts carry that restriction to the order. The 842T9AA#ABA configuration is built to satisfy it, so it can be cited directly on a solicitation without a waiver.

Which components ship in the bundle?
The Poly G7500 4K codec, the EagleEye IV 4x PTZ camera with HDCI cable, the Poly TC8 touch controller, and a Poly IP tabletop microphone. Displays, camera mounting hardware, and any additional microphone arrays are ordered separately.

Can a longer-reach camera be added later?
Yes. The codec accepts up to three HDMI or USB camera inputs with switching from the touch interface, so a room that outgrows the 4x camera can add a longer-reach camera without replacing the codec, controller, or microphone infrastructure. That upgrade path is one of the practical arguments for a modular platform over an all-in-one video bar.

How is microphone coverage extended?
The codec supplies PoE+ on three dedicated 10/100/1G LAN ports and supports up to three IP microphone arrays with roughly 20 ft. of pickup each. Table and ceiling arrays connect over standard Ethernet cabling, so a longer table is handled without an outboard DSP or analog mic runs.

Will it interoperate with our existing video infrastructure?
Yes. Alongside native Microsoft Teams and Zoom room apps, the codec supports standards-based H.323 and SIP calling at up to 6 Mbps with dynamic bandwidth allocation, so it registers to existing gatekeepers, SIP registrars, and bridges.

What encryption is available for a network security review?
Media encryption uses AES-128 and AES-256 with H.235.6 support, management interfaces run over TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2, and administrative access is authenticated. The codec supports IPv4 and IPv6 dual-stack addressing.

What warranty and support coverage apply?
The system carries a one-year return-to-factory parts and labor warranty. Extended Poly+ coverage with advance hardware replacement is available separately; contact Creation Networks to have the coverage tier quoted with the hardware line items.
