Commercial AV system designers deploying a four channel Dante amplifier usually face a tradeoff between channel count, load type, and rack depth. The NetPA U 4004 FX removes that tradeoff by making output mode and power allocation software configurable per channel. Total power within each adjacent channel pair is shared, so a single channel can be driven to 800 watts when the paired channel needs less, matching the amplifier to actual zone loading rather than a fixed nameplate rating. A software configurable high pass filter, defaulted to 80 Hz with a 12 dB per octave rolloff, protects speaker transformer cores in 70V and 100V constant voltage modes.

The onboard 12x16 mix matrix routes any analog or Dante input to any amplifier output, Dante output, or analog line output, with the post-DSP line outputs processed separately from the amplifier outputs so downstream amplifiers can receive their own delay and level settings. Dante transport runs 8 channels in and 8 channels out at 24-bit/48 kHz with Dante Domain Manager and AES67 support, and the two Gigabit LAN ports can be merged for single cable operation or split to keep control traffic off the audio VLAN.
