Product Overview

The Epiphan Pearl Mini Live Video Production System is a compact, touchscreen-operated encoder that switches, records, and streams up to three HD video sources. Built for lecture capture, houses of worship, and commercial meeting spaces, this Pearl Mini hardware encoder fits installations that need straightforward switching with reliable live streaming and recording. Operators run production from the built-in touchscreen or the browser-based Epiphan Live interface, making it well suited to volunteer-operated and one-button deployments. It is a strong fit for AV integration where a portable, simple-to-operate live production system is required.

Product Description

The Pearl Mini brings together SDI and HDMI inputs for cameras, playback devices, and computers, with no external scaling or scan conversion required. Operators build custom layouts, including picture-in-picture and image overlays, using the drag-and-drop editor in the web-based Admin panel, and can combine, crop, and scale sources while adding overlay images, text, and timestamping. Hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding runs in real time for simultaneous streaming and recording.

For installed AV systems, the Pearl Mini streams to YouTube, Facebook, and other CDNs while a built-in streaming server distributes locally to web browsers, smart TVs, and set-top boxes. Recordings are captured to internal storage or SD card and can be offloaded automatically to USB or network drives over SFTP, FTP, RSYNC, SCP, or CIFS. Professional audio connections include XLR/TRS combo jacks, RCA, and 3.5 mm inputs with gain control, and the system integrates with Kaltura, Panopto, YuJa, and Opencast plus Crestron and Q-SYS control platforms. For higher-capacity multi-camera production, integrators often step up to the Pearl-2, while the single-channel Pearl Nano and rack-mount Pearl Nexus serve more focused deployments.
