Christie 163-047102-03 – Griffyn 4K50-RGB 50,000-Lumen 4K Laser Projector TAA is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
What is the Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB laser projector?
The Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB (163-047102-03) is the TAA-compliant version of Christie's 50,000 ISO lumen, native 4K (4096 x 2160) 3DLP RGB pure laser projector. It is built for large venues, projection mapping, live events, planetariums and theme park attractions where a single high-brightness 4K projector has to fill a very large surface. Its solid-state RGB laser illumination covers Rec. 709, P3 and about 98% of Rec. 2020, giving large-venue audiences wide-gamut color at full 4K resolution.
How does the Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB work?
Griffyn 4K50-RGB combines a dust-sealed 3DLP optical engine with separate red, green and blue lasers, so color is generated directly by the light source rather than by phosphor and filters. Christie TruLife++ electronics process 4K signals at 1.2 Gpx/s, with 24-60 Hz standard and higher frame rates available through the Mirage and Mirage Pro options.
Connectivity is built in: one HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0, two DisplayPort 1.4 and two DisplayPort 1.2 inputs, with no option cards to buy. Control runs over Ethernet with a web UI, RS232, GPIO and a wired keypad, and Christie Conductor (a free download) can monitor and control up to 256 projectors on one network.
For multi-projector arrays, Christie Twist warping and blending is standard and Mystique Lite is a complimentary download; Christie Mystique editions add camera-based automatic alignment. Christie LiteLOC holds color balance and brightness steady as ambient temperature changes, which matters in long-running fixed installations.
The projector is omnidirectional, liquid cooled and uses a field-replaceable light source. It runs on 200-240 VAC single phase via an IEC60309 30 A connector, so the electrical design should be confirmed during site survey. Lenses come from Christie's 3DLP ILS4 native 4K family, and Creation Networks can help select the throw ratio, rigging and fiber transport (such as the Christie Link Transmitter) as part of a complete large-venue design.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Christie 163-047102-03 TAA compliant?
Yes. Christie lists 163-047102-XX as the TAA-compliant Griffyn 4K50-RGB model, intended for government and federal projects that require TAA sourcing.
Which lenses work with the Griffyn 4K50-RGB?
It uses Christie 3DLP ILS4 native 4K lenses, including 0.38:1 UST, 0.72:1, 0.9:1, 1.13-1.66:1 and 1.45-2.17:1 high-brightness and ultra-high-contrast options. Some long-throw zooms require a lens hood extension for Class 1, Risk Group 3. Browse Christie projector lenses or ask us to run throw calculations.
What power does the projector need?
200-240 VAC single phase at 19 A, through an IEC60309 30 A connector. Typical draw is 2,800 W and maximum is 3,800 W, so a dedicated circuit should be planned.
Can multiple Griffyn projectors be blended?
Yes. Christie Twist is built in for warping and blending, Mystique Lite is a free download, and paid Mystique editions add camera-based auto-alignment for large arrays.
Does Creation Networks install and support Griffyn systems?
Yes. We design, install, commission and support large-venue projection systems nationwide. See the full Christie Digital collection or compare the Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB for a smaller 4K RGB model.
