The BirdDog EYES P400 (White) is a 4K 10-bit Full NDI® PTZ camera designed for commercial AV integration, broadcast production, and house of worship deployments. Built around an 8.5MP Sony CMOS backlit sensor with 20x optical zoom and Full NDI® over Gigabit Ethernet, the P400 outputs 4K UHD via 6G-SDI and HDMI simultaneously. The white finish suits ceiling-mount installations in conference rooms, auditoriums, and sanctuaries where camera visibility is a design consideration. It is a direct step up from 1080p NDI cameras for integrators requiring 4K resolution with proven NDI reliability.
Product Description
The BirdDog EYES P400 uses an 8.5MP 1/2.5" Sony CMOS backlit sensor delivering 4K UHD at up to 4Kp30 with YCbCr 4:2:2 10-bit color depth over 6G-SDI. The 20x optical zoom is supplemented by Super Resolution Zoom: 30x in 4K and 40x in HD mode — providing long-throw capability suited to mid-size sanctuaries, boardrooms, and training facilities. The white housing integrates cleanly with ceiling-mount installations in rooms where camera aesthetics matter.
The P400 transmits visually lossless 4K via Full Bandwidth NDI® over standard Gigabit Ethernet. Control is via NDI auto-configuration, VISCA IP, and dual RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial ports for integration with hardware switchers, control systems, and PTZ keyboards. Power is via PoE+ (802.3at) or 12V DC. Features include bi-color tally, 128 presets, BirdUI browser-based configuration, and RESTful API support for Crestron, AMX, and Q-SYS. Also available in black finish. Pair with the BirdDog KBD PTZ Controller for multi-camera production control.

Does the P400 support NDI|HX?
No. The P400 transmits Full Bandwidth NDI® only. For NDI|HX3 in 4K60, see the BirdDog X5 Ultra.
What is the difference between the P400 and P4K?
The P400 uses a 1/2.5" 8.5MP Sony sensor with 20x zoom; the P4K uses a 1" 14.2MP sensor with 12x zoom. The P4K provides better low-light performance for large venues; the P400 is more compact and more accessible in price while still delivering 4K Full NDI.
Is the P400 available in black?
Yes. The BirdDog P400 Black (BDP400B) is available at the same price.
What PTZ controller is compatible?
The BirdDog KBD supports NDI, VISCA, and RS-422 and is fully compatible with the P400.
What PoE standard is required?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) at up to 26.8W maximum. Standard PoE (802.3af) is insufficient.
