What is the AUDAC CELO8SI/W ceiling subwoofer?
The AUDAC CELO8SI/W is a high-end 8" in-ceiling subwoofer that adds bass to CELO ceiling speaker systems without a visible cabinet. It handles 2 x 50 W continuous (AES) through a built-in stereo crossover and reaches down to 45 Hz (±3 dB). The SlimLine grill with a 1 mm border keeps it almost invisible in hotel, restaurant, retail and corporate ceilings.
How does the AUDAC CELO8SI/W ceiling subwoofer work?
The CELO8SI/W uses a stiff, light aluminum cone in an open-back design, which keeps ceiling vibration low and lets the bass sound natural. Its integrated passive stereo crossover is the key feature: the amplifier feeds the sub (4-pin Euro terminal input), and the sub passes the high frequencies above 200 Hz on to the satellite speakers through its 8-pin output. That saves cable runs and amplifier channels on every zone. A phase switch (0° or 180°) helps it blend with the room; AUDAC recommends 0° when all speakers sit in a flat ceiling. It mounts in a 9.84" cut-out with 4.61" built-in depth using a 4-screw quick-fix clamp, and the magnetic grill is paintable. Pair it with the CELO8I/W or other CELO speakers, and use the WMM450 or WMM630 back box where an enclosure is required.
