The Adder Technology PSU-POE-5VDC-2.4A is a 12W, IEEE 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet splitter that delivers 5V at 2.4A and full 1GbE data to Adder devices that do not accept PoE directly. It powers 5V KVM extenders and access modules from a PoE switch port, removing the need for a local power supply where outlets are hard to reach.
What does the Adder Technology PSU-POE-5VDC-2.4A do?
The splitter connects inline between a PoE switch and the Adder device. It extracts power from the Cat5e cable, passes 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet through, and outputs regulated 5V DC on a 190 mm flying lead. It accepts 44V to 57V input, auto-detects the PSE power source and includes isolation circuitry against short circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature.
Adder rates the splitter at 83% efficiency, supporting operation from -20 to +50 °C.
