Product Overview
The Adder AVM-C110-CAM-DP is a ZeroU DisplayPort computer access module (CAM) that connects a DisplayPort-equipped computer to an AdderView Matrix IP KVM system, extending pixel-perfect video, bi-directional audio and USB 2.0 over a single CATx cable or 1GbE network. Drawing under 3 watts, it is powered directly from the host's USB ports — no external PSU, no rack space consumed. Integrators specifying a DisplayPort KVM transmitter dongle, a ZeroU computer access module for KVM matrix, or an IP KVM extender for DisplayPort sources will find the C110 CAM a compact, plug-and-play building block.
Product Description
In an AdderView Matrix deployment, every source computer needs a CAM to join the system. The C110 DP attaches to the computer's full-size DisplayPort and two USB-A ports via its integrated 300mm flying leads, then links to the matrix over one RJ45 connection — point to point to a user station, or through a standard Gigabit Ethernet switch for full matrix routing.

Video quality is the headline: a spatially-lossless encoding system with 1:1 pixel mapping delivers pixel-perfect, color-accurate images up to 2560 x 1600 at 60Hz with no compression artifacts — and dithered or noisy video (as produced by some Mac computers) passes through cleanly. Intelligent EDID management can report the true characteristics of the connected monitor back to the computer or present a fixed EDID for predictable behavior across the matrix.

USB 2.0 with True Emulation supports keyboards, mice, graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, card readers, 3D explorers and mass storage, with class-control policies available to disable specific device types where security requires. Digital stereo audio runs bi-directionally as 16-bit/48kHz two-channel PCM over USB, or unidirectionally embedded in the video stream. Like all AdderView Matrix devices, the CAM ships zero-config — plug it in and it is discoverable immediately, no drivers or software required.

- USB Powered, Under 3W Typical — Draws power from two host USB 2.0 ports; an optional external 5VDC supply supports redundancy.
- Pixel-Perfect Video to 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz — Spatially-lossless encoding with 1:1 pixel mapping delivers color-accurate, artifact-free video in real time.
- DisplayPort 1.1 Dual-Mode Input — Full-size DisplayPort connection for DP++ compliant sources.
- USB 2.0 with True Emulation and Class Control — Supports tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, card readers and mass storage, with the ability to disable device classes.
- Bi-Directional Digital Audio — 2-channel 16-bit/48kHz linear PCM over USB, or embedded video audio unidirectionally.
- Intelligent EDID Management — Pass through the true monitor EDID or present a fixed profile for consistent matrix behavior.
- Scales to 256 User Stations — Each C110 CAM can be reached by up to 256 user stations across the matrix.
- Zero-Config, Fanless and Reliable — Plug-and-play deployment, silent fanless design, 868,000-hour calculated MTBF.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio — attach edit and graphics workstations to a facility-wide IP KVM matrix.
- Government space — connect sources to matrix systems with USB device-class policy control.
- Boardroom — route a resident DisplayPort PC to room user stations over the building network.
- Commercial meeting space — share centrally racked computers among multiple rooms via 1GbE.
- Training room — deliver lab source machines to instructor and student positions through the matrix.
- Auditorium — bring rack-room presentation machines to stage and control positions over a single CATx run.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CAM need its own power supply?
No. It powers from two host USB 2.0 ports (under 3W typical). An optional external 5VDC supply can be used for redundancy or hosts with limited USB power.
What sources are compatible?
Any computer with a full-size DisplayPort output that is Dual-Mode (DP++) compliant. For HDMI sources, choose the AVM-C110-CAM-HM HDMI variant.
Can it run over my existing network switch?
Yes, over 1GbE infrastructure; Adder also offers preconfigured AVM matrix network switches. Note 10/100 networks are not supported.
How many users can access one CAM?
A single C110 CAM can be connected to by up to 256 different user stations across the AdderView Matrix system.
Is video compressed?
The system uses spatially-lossless encoding with 1:1 pixel mapping, delivering pixel-perfect, color-accurate video without visible artifacts.
Can I restrict what USB devices users attach?
Yes. USB class control allows the system to disable specific types of devices, useful for security-sensitive installations.
Does it require drivers?
No. CAMs ship in a zero-config state and are plug and play, with no software installed on the host.
