The Adder Technology PSU-POE-12VDC-2A is a 24W, IEEE 802.3at compliant Power over Ethernet splitter that delivers 12V at 2A and full 1GbE data to Adder devices that do not accept PoE directly. It lets a KVM extender or matrix user station run from a PoE switch port, which is useful where access to mains power is limited by the building or furniture layout.

The splitter sits inline between the PoE switch and the Adder endpoint. It takes power and data from the Cat5e cable, passes 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet through to the device, and outputs regulated 12V DC on a 3-pin Kycon connector on a 190 mm flying lead. It accepts 44V to 57V input, auto-detects the PSE power source and includes isolation circuitry that protects connected equipment against short circuit, over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature.
