Product Overview

The Adder ALIF2124T-US ADDERLink INFINITY 2124T is a dual-head HDMI IP KVM transmitter that carries pixel-perfect video, audio, and USB 2.0 from a host computer across a standard 1GbE network. Fitted with dual SFP cages accepting CATx or fiber modules, this HDMI KVM over IP transmitter supports one display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz or two displays at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with link distances up to 20km over fiber. It is built for facilities that need to relocate HDMI-equipped computers into a secure, temperature-controlled room while operators keep a real-time, artifact-free desktop.

Product Description

The ALIF2124T connects to the source computer through two HDMI inputs, a USB Type B port, and an auxiliary USB Type A connection, then encodes the desktop with Adder's spatially-lossless, 1:1 pixel-mapped system. The video that reaches the user is identical to the video leaving the computer — full color accuracy with no artifacts and real-time response.

Two SFP cages give installers a choice of copper or fiber on each port. The included SFP-CATX-RJ45 module supports 100m/328ft structured-cable hops — and because the link is standard IP, every added 1GbE network device extends the path another 100m. Fiber SFPs push distances up to 20km. The dual ports also support network teaming, providing load balancing and full redundancy for mission-critical sources.

USB 2.0 with class control covers keyboards, mice, graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and mass storage devices; for secure applications, non-HID devices can be disabled without physically blocking ports. Each ALIF21XX unit can run as a simple extender or as a self-managed distributed KVM switch in which each receiver sees and rapidly switches between up to 16 sources. Note that the 2124T does not support HDCP-protected content or CEC control — it is designed for computer sources, not consumer media players.

Scale to a full any-to-any matrix with the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM), and pair with INFINITY 2000-series receivers such as the ALIF2122R-US dual-head DisplayPort receiver at the desk. Optics, cables, and rack kits are in our Adder Technology collection.

Key Features

  • Dual-Head HDMI Capture — Transmits one display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz or two at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with spatially-lossless, 1:1 pixel-mapped encoding.
  • Dual SFP Cages — CATx or fiber modules on each port support distances from 100m on copper to 20km over fiber.
  • Redundant, Teamed Networking — Two network ports provide teaming for load-balanced, fully redundant operation.
  • USB 2.0 with Class Control — Supports HID and mass storage devices, with non-HID blocking for security-sensitive sites.
  • Extender or Distributed Switch — Runs point-to-point or as a self-managed switch where each receiver accesses up to 16 sources.
  • Matrix Scalable with AIM — Becomes an endpoint in a true any-to-any IP KVM matrix under ADDERLink INFINITY Manager.
  • Intelligent EDID Management — True monitor characteristics pass back to the computer for correct video without configuration.
  • Fanless, Compact, Plug and Play — Silent zero-config unit with a 461,000-hour MTBF rating.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio — HDMI production and graphics machines racked centrally with desks fed over the IP network.
  • Government space — source-side endpoint with USB class control and redundant teamed network links.
  • Boardroom — relocate HDMI host PCs out of the room while preserving full dual-display quality and control.
  • Training room — centralize source computers and share them to any managed workstation.
  • Commercial meeting space — distribute computer sources over existing copper or fiber infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the ALIF2124T support HDCP content?
No. The transmitter does not support HDCP or CEC, so it is intended for computer sources rather than protected consumer media devices.

What SFP module is included?
One SFP-CATX-RJ45 1GbE copper module ships in the box. Single-mode and multimode fiber SFPs are available separately for longer links.

Can a receiver switch between several of these transmitters?
Yes. As a self-managed distributed switch, each receiver can see and rapidly switch between up to 16 sources; the AIM manager scales this into a full matrix.

How far can the link run?
100m/328ft per hop on CATx — repeatable by adding 1GbE network devices — or up to 20km using fiber SFP transceivers.

Which operating systems are compatible?
All known operating systems. The unit ships in a zero-config state with no drivers or host software required.

How do I rack-mount multiple transmitters?
The optional RMK17 kit mounts three transmitter units across 1U of rack space.
