Product Overview
The Adder ALIF2122T-US ADDERLink INFINITY 2122 transmitter is a dual-head DisplayPort IP KVM transmitter that places a computer's video, USB 2.0, and audio onto a standard 1GbE network with pixel-perfect quality. Equipped with dual SFP cages for CATx or fiber modules, this DisplayPort KVM over IP transmitter supports one display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz or two displays at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz and link distances up to 20km over fiber. It is the source-side half of an INFINITY 2000-series extension or a scalable IP KVM matrix endpoint, letting critical computing hardware live in a secure, temperature-controlled room away from the user.
Product Description
The ALIF2122T connects to the host computer through two DisplayPort inputs, a USB Type B port, a 3.5mm audio input, and an auxiliary USB Type A connection. Its spatially-lossless encoding system with 1:1 pixel mapping means the digital video arriving at the user's desk is the same as the digital video leaving the computer — color accurate and artifact-free, with real-time control preserved.

A standout capability is Magic Eye support for dithered video. Some graphics cards — notably in Mac Pro systems — use dithering to simulate deeper color, which can dramatically inflate video data rates. Magic Eye handles dithering without letting it degrade link performance, making the 2122T a dependable choice for mixed Mac and PC estates.

The two SFP cages take the included CATx RJ45 module for 100m/328ft structured-cable hops, or optional fiber transceivers for runs up to 20km/12mi. Both ports can be teamed for fully redundant network operation — essential where a single link failure must not take a source offline. USB 2.0 with class control supports keyboards, mice, tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and mass storage, and non-HID devices can be disabled entirely for secure facilities. Intelligent EDID management passes true monitor characteristics back to the computer, and the unit ships zero-config with no drivers required.
Complete the link with the matching ALIF2122R-US receiver, or scale to a full any-to-any matrix with the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM). SFP optics, DisplayPort cables, and rack mounts are available in our Adder Technology collection.
Key Features
- Dual-Head DisplayPort Capture — Transmits one display at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz or two at 1920x1200 @ 60Hz with spatially-lossless, 1:1 pixel-mapped encoding.
- Dual SFP Cages — CATx or fiber modules support link distances from 100m on copper to 20km over fiber.
- Magic Eye Dithered Video Support — Handles Mac Pro and other dithering graphics cards without degrading link performance.
- Redundant Network Operation — Network teaming across both SFP ports keeps sources online through a link failure.
- USB 2.0 with Class Control — Full HID and mass storage support, with optional blocking of non-HID devices for secure deployments.
- Matrix Scalable with AIM — Point-to-point extenders become a true any-to-any IP KVM matrix under AIM management.
- Intelligent EDID Management — True monitor characteristics are passed to the computer for correct video output without configuration.
- Plug and Play, Fanless — Zero-config delivery in a compact, silent, rack-mountable metal case.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio — racked production machines feed operator desks over the facility's 1GbE network.
- Government space — secure source-side endpoint with USB class control and redundant network paths.
- Boardroom — host PCs relocated to the equipment room with full-quality dual-display extension back to the table.
- Training room — source computers centralized and shared to any AIM-managed workstation.
- Commercial meeting space — flexible source distribution over existing copper or fiber infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which receiver completes the link?
The matching unit is the ALIF2122R-US dual-head DisplayPort receiver. In an AIM-managed matrix, compatible INFINITY receivers across the network can also connect.
Does it work with Mac Pro graphics?
Yes. The Magic Eye feature supports dithered video output from Mac Pro and similar graphics cards without degrading overall link performance.
What cabling do I need?
The included SFP-CATX-RJ45 module supports CAT-rated structured cable at 100m/328ft per hop. Optional single-mode or multimode 1GbE SFPs extend the link up to 20km over fiber.
Can it operate as a switch without AIM?
Yes. INFINITY 2000-series units can run point-to-point or as a self-managed distributed KVM switch; adding the AIM manager unlocks full matrix management at scale.
How is RS232 handled?
Serial standards pass between units at up to 115,200 baud using serial-to-USB converter accessories.
Is rack mounting available?
Yes. The RMK17 kit mounts three transmitter units in 1U, with blanking plates available for partial fills.
