Product Overview

The Adder ALIF1002T-US is the transmitter unit of the ADDERLink INFINITY 1002 IP KVM extender system, designed to relocate critical computers into a secure, climate-controlled equipment room while operators keep a pixel-perfect desktop. As a single-link DVI USB 2.0 IP KVM transmitter, it encodes 1920x1200@60Hz video with spatially lossless 1:1 pixel mapping and sends it across a standard 1GbE network over CATx or fiber. This KVM over IP transmitter forms the source side of point-to-point extension links and scales into a full digital KVM matrix with the AIM manager.

Product Description

The ALIF1002T-US connects directly to the host computer: DVI-D for video, USB-B 2.0 with True Emulation for keyboard, mouse, and HID peripherals, 3.5mm jacks for bi-directional analog stereo audio, and a 9-pin RS232 port for serial control at up to 115,200 baud. The encoded signals travel over the unit's RJ45 link port or, for longer distances, through a fiber transceiver fitted to the built-in SFP cage. Because the system uses standard IP technology, extension is not limited to a single 100-meter cable; each 1GbE network device adds another 100 meters, repeatable across the facility.

USB class control allows graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and 3D explorers while letting administrators disable non-HID devices such as mass storage — a practical safeguard for government and broadcast installations. Support for dithered video keeps analog-derived or noisy sources, including some Mac computers, looking correct through the link. Intelligent EDID management passes true monitor characteristics back to the computer, network teaming provides redundant operation, and the fanless metal chassis runs silently in racks or on desks. Units arrive in a zero-configuration state with no drivers to install.

Complete the link with the Adder ALIF1002R-US receiver at the user station, and add the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) to switch multiple sources and stations as a matrix. Find matching receivers, SFP modules, and rackmount kits in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Spatially Lossless Encoding — 1:1 pixel mapping transmits color-accurate single-link DVI video up to 1920x1200@60Hz with no artifacts, so the received image matches the source exactly.
  • Dual-Media Link Ports — One RJ45 and one SFP cage allow CATx or fiber connections, with the optional second port supporting teaming for load-balanced and resilient systems.
  • USB 2.0 True Emulation — High-speed USB-B host connection supports HID devices alongside mass storage, with class control to disable non-HID devices in secure applications.
  • Unlimited Extension over IP — Add 1GbE network devices to repeat 100-meter segments, or fit fiber SFPs for much greater distances.
  • Matrix Scalability via AIM — The ADDERLink INFINITY Manager turns point-to-point extenders into a digital KVM matrix linking any workstation to any networked computer.
  • Bi-Directional Analog Audio — 2-channel 16-bit/48kHz stereo via 3.5mm in/out jacks carries program audio and microphone return.
  • RS232 Serial Passthrough — 9-pin D-type serial extension up to 115,200 baud for device control and automation.
  • Dithered Video Support — Passes analog or noisy video and dithered output from computers such as some Macs without degradation.
  • Fanless Zero-Config Deployment — Silent metal 1U chassis, plug-and-play setup, and compatibility with all known operating systems without drivers.

Typical Applications

  • Broadcast studio playout and edit source relocation
  • Government space deployments with computers secured away from users
  • Training room source equipment centralized in equipment racks
  • Commercial meeting space systems fed from a central rack room
  • Auditorium presentation sources housed in remote machine rooms

Frequently Asked Questions

What receiver does the ALIF1002T-US pair with?
It pairs with ADDERLink INFINITY receivers such as the ALIF1002R-US, connected directly with a single cable or across a 1GbE network for switched or matrix operation.

How far can the signal be extended?
Each 1GbE network segment supports up to 100 meters of CATx cable, and segments can be chained through network devices. Fitting a fiber SFP transceiver enables much longer runs.

Does it support multi-user matrix switching?
Yes. With the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM), multiple transmitters and receivers form a matrix where any user station can access any connected computer.

What cables ship with the US model?
The box includes the 5V power supply with US IEC cable, a 2-meter single-link DVI cable, a 2-meter USB cable, and two 2-meter audio cables, so a standard installation needs no extra source-side cabling.

Will it work with Mac computers that dither video?
Yes. The system supports dithered video, allowing noisy or dithered sources, including some Mac computers, to pass through correctly.

Is software required on the host computer?
No. The transmitter is driverless and OS-independent, working with all known operating systems out of the box.
