Product Overview
The Adder ALIF1002R-US is the receiver unit of the ADDERLink INFINITY 1002 IP KVM extender system, built for control rooms, broadcast facilities, and post-production suites that need pixel-perfect single-head DVI video and transparent USB 2.0 at the operator desk. As a DVI USB 2.0 IP KVM receiver, it decodes spatially lossless video from an ALIF1002T transmitter over a standard 1GbE network, delivering 1920x1200 at 60Hz with no compression artifacts. With both RJ45 and SFP link ports, this KVM over IP receiver supports CATx or fiber connections and scales from point-to-point extension to a full digital KVM matrix.
Product Description
In an ADDERLink INFINITY deployment, computers stay racked in a secure, temperature-controlled equipment room while operators work from clean, quiet desks. The ALIF1002R-US sits at the user station and reconnects the desktop experience: one DVI-D monitor output, four USB 2.0 Type-A ports for keyboard, mouse, and HID peripherals, bi-directional analog stereo audio on 3.5mm jacks, and an RS232 serial port for ancillary device control. Because the system runs on standard IP technology, extension distance is not capped at a single 100-meter cable run; each 1GbE network device adds another 100 meters, and the SFP cage accepts fiber transceivers for much longer links.

USB 2.0 class control lets administrators permit graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and 3D controllers while disabling non-HID devices such as mass storage, so there is no need to physically block ports in security-sensitive installations. Intelligent EDID management passes the true characteristics of the connected monitor back to the source computer, and dithered video support keeps noisy or Mac-generated video streams clean through the system. The unit ships in a zero-configuration state, requires no drivers, and supports network teaming for redundant operation in mission-critical environments.

Pair this receiver with the Adder ALIF1002T-US transmitter for a complete extension link, and add the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) to turn multiple point-to-point extenders into a scalable any-to-any KVM matrix. Key Features
- Spatially Lossless Video — 1:1 pixel mapping delivers color-accurate 1920x1200@60Hz DVI video identical to the source, with no compression artifacts.
- Standard IP Extension — Runs over ordinary 1GbE networks with RJ45 and SFP link ports, so distance can be extended 100 meters per network hop or much farther over fiber.
- Four USB 2.0 Ports with Class Control — Supports tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, and other peripherals while allowing administrators to disable non-HID devices for security.
- KVM Matrix Ready — Adding the AIM manager converts point-to-point extenders into a scalable digital KVM matrix where any workstation reaches any computer.
- Bi-Directional Analog Audio — 2-channel 16-bit/48kHz stereo audio in and out via 3.5mm jacks keeps program audio and talkback at the desk.
- RS232 Serial Passthrough — 9-pin D-type serial port carries control data at up to 115,200 baud for peripheral and automation use.
- Intelligent EDID Management — Monitor characteristics pass back to the computer automatically for correct video output without manual configuration.
- Redundant Network Operation — Network teaming provides failover resilience for mission-critical 24/7 installations.
- Fanless Plug-and-Play Design — Robust 1U metal chassis with silent fanless cooling and zero-configuration deployment; no drivers or software required.
Typical Applications
- Broadcast studio production and playout control positions
- Government space operator workstations with secured server rooms
- Training room instructor stations driven from remote computers
- Commercial meeting space presentation systems with racked sources
- Auditorium control booths extended from central equipment rooms

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the ALIF1002R-US work on its own?
No. It is the receiver half of an extension link and must be paired with an ADDERLink INFINITY transmitter such as the ALIF1002T-US, connected directly or through a 1GbE network.
Can I build a KVM matrix with this receiver?
Yes. With the ADDERLink INFINITY Manager (AIM) appliance, multiple ALIF transmitters and receivers on the same network become a switchable matrix where any user station can connect to any source computer.
What cabling does it use?
Standard CATx network cabling to the RJ45 port, or fiber via an SFP transceiver in the SFP cage. Each 1GbE network segment supports up to 100 meters, and segments can be chained through network switches.
Are drivers required on the source computers?
No. ADDERLink INFINITY devices ship in a zero-configuration state and work with all known operating systems without drivers or software.
Can USB storage devices be blocked for security?
Yes. USB class control can disable non-HID devices system-wide, so mass storage is prohibited without physically blocking ports.
Is US power included?
Yes. The -US model ships with the 5V DC mains power supply and a US IEC power cable.
