TOA voice evacuation and emergency paging — VM and VX series system frames, amplifier modules, firefighter microphones, hot-swappable power supplies and supervision hardware for life-safety announcement systems.

This is life safety equipment

Voice evacuation is not paging with a different label. These systems are governed by code, require supervision of amplifiers, speaker lines and power, and are inspected. Line supervision means the system detects a broken speaker circuit and reports it, rather than discovering the fault during an evacuation.

Design follows the authority having jurisdiction and the applicable standard, not a coverage chart. Intelligibility is measured and must be met throughout the occupied area — a system that is loud enough but unintelligible fails inspection.

Redundancy

Hot-swappable power supplies and backup amplifier modules exist because a single failure cannot be allowed to silence the system. In larger buildings that redundancy is required rather than optional, and it has to be designed in from the start.

Coordination is the whole job

Voice evacuation touches the fire alarm system, the building's power, the architecture and the AHJ. It has to be designed alongside all of them, and the documentation matters as much as the equipment — as-builts, supervision reports and commissioning records are what the inspection runs against.

Creation Networks designs, installs and commissions voice evacuation systems for schools, government buildings and healthcare facilities, and coordinates with the AHJ throughout. Call 888-230-3661 or email sales@creationnetworks.net.
