Product Overview
The Williams AV WF T8 WaveCAST EIGHT is a multi-channel Wi-Fi assistive listening transmitter that streams up to eight channels of real-time audio over an existing wireless network to smartphones, tablets, and dedicated Wi-Fi receivers. Built for larger assistive listening applications and multi-source audio streaming in venues such as gyms, sports bars, and conference centers, the rack-mount unit delivers ADA-compliant hearing assistance without dedicated RF infrastructure. Its DSP-based architecture lets integrators optimize each audio over Wi-Fi channel for hearing assistance, music playback, or speech intelligibility.
Product Description
WaveCAST is the industry's only audio over Wi-Fi platform with DSP-based system architecture, allowing each stream to be tuned for the specific content being delivered. Hearing assistance channels can be optimized for hearing loss, music channels for high-fidelity playback, and voice channels for maximum speech intelligibility — all from a single chassis. The WF T8 provides eight balanced or unbalanced line-level inputs on Phoenix-style connectors, making it straightforward to feed from a DSP, mixer, or matrix switcher in an existing commercial audio system.
Up to eight WaveCAST EIGHT units can operate on one network, scaling a deployment to as many as 64 channels for large multi-zone facilities. Listeners connect to the venue Wi-Fi and use the free WaveCAST app for iOS or Android to select a channel and adjust volume, or facilities can issue Williams AV WAV Pro handheld receivers for a managed, ADA-ready assistive listening solution. The transmitter supports multicast network configurations for high listener counts and features ultra-low latency for usable lip sync with live presenters and video displays.
The unit occupies a single EIA rack space in a standard 19-inch equipment rack, with gain adjustable per input from +6 to -60 dB in 1 dB steps and a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connection for network integration. A Dante-equipped version is also available — see the WaveCAST EIGHT with Dante (WF T8 D). Browse the complete Williams AV collection for receivers, neckloops, and system packages.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do listeners receive audio from the WaveCAST EIGHT?
Listeners connect their smartphone or tablet to the venue Wi-Fi network and use the free WaveCAST app (iOS or Android) to choose a channel and set volume. Venues can also provide Williams AV WAV Pro Wi-Fi receivers for guests without personal devices, which supports ADA assistive listening compliance.
How many channels and users does the system support?
Each WF T8 streams up to eight channels, and up to eight units can share one network for a maximum of 64 channels. Multicast network configurations allow the system to serve large audiences in venues such as auditoriums and stadium clubs.
How does the WF T8 integrate with an existing AV system?
The transmitter accepts eight balanced or unbalanced line-level feeds on Phoenix-style connectors, so it connects directly to the outputs of a DSP, mixer, or matrix switcher. It mounts in one rack space of a standard 19-inch rack and connects to the LAN over a single RJ-45 Ethernet port.
Does the WaveCAST EIGHT support Dante?
This model (WF T8) uses analog line-level inputs. Williams AV offers the WF T8 D variant with a Dante network audio input for facilities running Dante infrastructure.
What network is required?
The WF T8 streams over a standard Wi-Fi network with sufficient capacity for the expected listener count. It supports multicast configurations and connects via CAT 5e Ethernet up to 328 feet from the network switch or access point.
What warranty does Williams AV provide?
The WaveCAST EIGHT carries a 2-year warranty against component failure and manufacturing defects. Creation Networks can assist with system design, configuration, and post-sale support.
