Product Overview
The Williams AV WF T8 D WaveCAST EIGHT with Dante is a multi-channel Wi-Fi assistive listening transmitter that takes its audio directly from a Dante network and streams up to eight channels in real time to smartphones, tablets, and dedicated Wi-Fi receivers. It is designed for larger assistive listening applications and multi-source audio over Wi-Fi streaming in venues such as gyms, sports bars, and convention facilities. The Dante audio input eliminates analog cabling between the audio DSP and the transmitter, simplifying rack-mount installation in networked AV systems.
Product Description
The WaveCAST EIGHT with Dante is built on the same professional DSP architecture as the rest of the WaveCAST family, with audio presets for hearing assistance, music, voice, and custom configurations. Each of the eight channels can be tuned independently — hearing assistance optimized for hearing loss, music for high-fidelity playback, and voice for maximum speech intelligibility. A 16-bit DAC with a 48 kHz sample rate keeps the digital stream clean from Dante input to Wi-Fi output.
For integrators standardizing on Dante audio networking, the WF T8 D subscribes to channels from any Dante-enabled console, DSP, or matrix over a single CAT 5e connection, removing eight runs of analog line-level cabling per transmitter. A separate Ethernet port handles control and Wi-Fi streaming traffic. The unit occupies one EIA space in a standard 19-inch equipment rack and supports per-channel gain adjustment from +6 to -60 dB in 1 dB steps.
Listeners join the venue Wi-Fi network and use the free WaveCAST app on iOS or Android to select a channel and adjust volume, or facilities can deploy Williams AV WAV Pro receivers to satisfy ADA assistive listening requirements with dedicated hardware. If your system uses analog sources instead of Dante, see the standard WaveCAST EIGHT (WF T8) with eight Phoenix-style line inputs, or browse the full Williams AV collection at Creation Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the WF T8 D connect to my Dante network?
A dedicated Dante RJ-45 port on the rear panel subscribes to channels from any Dante-enabled DSP, console, or matrix over CAT 5e cable up to 328 feet. Routing is managed with standard Dante Controller workflows, the same as any other Dante endpoint in your AV system.
What is the difference between the WF T8 and WF T8 D?
The WF T8 D replaces the eight analog Phoenix-style line inputs of the standard WF T8 with a Dante network audio input. Both stream up to eight channels of Wi-Fi audio and share the same DSP processing, rack-mount form factor, and listener app.
How do listeners receive the audio?
Listeners connect to the venue Wi-Fi and use the free WaveCAST app for iOS or Android to select a channel and adjust volume. Venues can also issue Williams AV WAV Pro Wi-Fi receivers, which provide a dedicated assistive listening device for ADA compliance.
Can multiple WaveCAST EIGHT units run on one network?
Yes. Up to eight WaveCAST EIGHT transmitters can operate on the same network, scaling a deployment to as many as 64 channels for large facilities and multi-room campuses.
Is the system suitable for ADA assistive listening compliance?
Yes. WaveCAST is an assistive listening platform; paired with dedicated receivers and appropriate signage, it helps venues meet ADA hearing assistance requirements while also supporting BYOD listening on personal smartphones.
What warranty and support are included?
Williams AV covers the WF T8 D with a 2-year warranty against component failure and manufacturing defects. Creation Networks provides pre-sale system design assistance and post-sale support.
