Product Overview

The Williams AV WF T5C-00 WaveCAST C is a Wi-Fi audio transmitter designed for pro-audio applications where high-quality sound is required, streaming real-time assistive listening audio to smartphones, tablets, and dedicated Wi-Fi receivers. It delivers audio over Wi-Fi for venues that need ADA-compliant hearing assistance, multi-language listening, or overflow audio without dedicated RF spectrum. With Telnet control over Ethernet, the half-rack unit integrates directly with third-party room control systems in commercial AV installations.

Product Description

WaveCAST C is built on a hardware-based DSP audio architecture, allowing system optimization for the specific audio stream being delivered. Hearing assistance can be tuned for hearing loss, music optimized for high-fidelity playback, and voice set for maximum speech intelligibility — with custom presets available for specific performance applications. The DSP feature set includes AGC, limiters, high-pass and low-pass filters, and an adjustable-range compressor, while a 16-bit DAC at a 48 kHz sample rate minimizes digital harshness.

Professional audio connectivity includes a combination XLR/1/4-inch TRS input accepting balanced or unbalanced mic or line-level signals with selectable phantom power, plus a line-level output and a headphone jack for monitoring incoming audio. Input gain adjusts from +24 dB to -60 dB in 1 dB steps from the front panel or the hosted web interface. AV professionals can also control the transmitter with Telnet commands via Ethernet, making it straightforward to fold into a Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS controlled conference room or auditorium system.

The system supports unicast and multicast network configurations: up to four WaveCAST C units can share one Wi-Fi network, supporting 45 users in unicast mode or 1,500+ users in multicast mode. Listeners stream through the free WaveCAST app on iOS or Android, or venues can add dedicated WAV Pro receivers — available in packaged systems such as the WaveCAST System with 2 WAV Pro receivers. Frequently Asked Questions

How do listeners receive audio from the WaveCAST C?

Listeners connect to the venue Wi-Fi network and use the free WaveCAST app for iOS or Android to select a channel and adjust volume. For ADA assistive listening compliance, venues can also provide dedicated Williams AV WAV Pro Wi-Fi receivers.

How many users can one transmitter support?

A WaveCAST C supports 45 listeners in unicast mode or more than 1,500 listeners in multicast mode, depending on network configuration. Up to four transmitters can share one Wi-Fi network for multiple channels or languages.

Can the WF T5C-00 be controlled by a room control system?

Yes. The unit accepts Telnet commands over Ethernet, so integrators can manage it from Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or other control processors. A remote programming guide is available from Williams AV upon request.

What audio sources can I connect?

The combo XLR/1/4-inch TRS input accepts balanced or unbalanced line-level signals or a microphone with selectable phantom power, so the transmitter takes a feed from a DSP, mixer output, or a microphone directly. A line-level RCA output and headphone jack support monitoring and daisy-chain applications.

Does this model include Dante?

No. The WF T5C-00 is the analog-input model. The WF T5CD-00 variant adds a Dante RJ-45 input and output for facilities running Dante audio networks; firmware is model specific.

What network infrastructure is required?

The transmitter connects to your LAN via RJ-45, and an external router or DHCP server is required to stream audio to receiving devices. CAT 5e runs are supported up to 328 feet.

What warranty does it carry?

Williams AV backs the WaveCAST C with a 2-year parts and labor warranty. Creation Networks can assist with system design and post-installation support.
