Product Overview

The Williams AV TGS PRO 737 is a single-channel FM tour guide system that lets tour participants — including those with hearing difficulties — listen directly to the guide and control their own volume. The package combines a PPA T46 body-pack FM transmitter with ten PPA R37 single-channel receivers, a MIC 100 headset microphone, batteries, and a hard carry case. As a portable assistive listening system, it requires no installation and is designed to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility requirements, making it a straightforward solution for facility tours, museum programs, and government buildings.

Product Description

The system operates on the 72–76 MHz auditory assistance band with 17 selectable wideband channels on the transmitter. The PPA R37 receiver tunes to a single FM channel via a seek button inside its battery compartment and can then be channel-locked, which keeps operation simple for tour participants — power on, adjust volume, listen. Each receiver delivers 200 Hz – 15 kHz audio response with a 65 dB minimum signal-to-noise ratio and runs up to 50 hours on two AA alkaline batteries or up to 32 hours on NiMH rechargeables.

The PPA T46 transmitter gives the guide an OLED status display, a 3.5 mm microphone input, and a 2.5 mm auxiliary input for broadcasting any line-level audio source such as a media player or mixer feed. A dual-channel preset mode lets the operator switch between two complete transmit configurations, and selectable 2:1 audio compression improves intelligibility in noisy environments. The microphone cord doubles as the transmit antenna, keeping the body-pack compact, and range extends to approximately 150 ft (45 m).

Because the system needs no commissioning, it suits rental fleets, docent programs, plant tours, and ADA assistive listening compliance for guided experiences. Receivers include belt clips for hands-free use; earphones, headphones, and neckloops are sold separately so each facility can standardize on its preferred listening accessory. Note that the system is FCC-approved for U.S. operation on 72–76 MHz and FCC rules limit use of this equipment to auditory assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the TGS PRO 737 include earphones?

No. The package includes the transmitter, ten receivers, headset microphone, batteries, and carry case. Earphones, headphones, and neckloops are sold separately so facilities can standardize on their preferred listening accessory, including neckloops for hearing aid telecoil users.

Does the system satisfy ADA assistive listening requirements?

The system is designed to meet ADA accessibility requirements by letting participants with hearing difficulties listen directly to the guide with individual volume control. Confirm receiver counts and neckloop provisions against the ADA requirements for your specific venue.

Can it be used outside the United States?

The system is FCC-approved for U.S. operation on the 72–76 MHz band and cannot be used in all countries. Check your government's radio regulations for 72–76 MHz operation before deploying internationally.

How do single-channel R37 receivers change channels?

A seek button inside the battery compartment steps through 17 preset wideband channels, and the receiver can then be channel-locked. This keeps day-to-day operation simple for tour participants while still allowing staff to retune.

Can I broadcast a line-level source instead of a microphone?

Yes. The PPA T46 transmitter has a 2.5 mm auxiliary input with 60 dB of adjustable gain, so you can feed audio from a mixer, media player, or other source.

Are rechargeable batteries supported?

Yes. Both transmitter and receivers accept AA NiMH batteries (BAT 026) and have drop-in charger contacts compatible with Williams Sound CHG 3502 and CHG 3512 chargers.

What warranty covers the system?

The transmitter and receivers carry a Lifetime PLUS Limited Warranty; accessories such as the microphone are covered for 90 days.
