Product Overview

The Williams AV PPA VP 37-00 is a large-area, portable FM assistive listening system that broadcasts a presenter's voice, music program, or audio service up to 1,000 feet on the 72-76 MHz hearing assistance band. The package combines a PPA T27 transmitter with four R37 receivers, batteries, antenna, ADA wall plaque, audio cable, and power supply — but no earphones or neckloops, so facilities can standardize on their own listening devices or hygienic single-use earbuds.

Product Description

The system is built around the T27 transmitter, featuring an LED display panel and push-button channel selection across 17 available channels. It connects to a 3.5 mm electret microphone for direct voice pickup or takes a line-level RCA feed from the existing house sound system using the included WCA 013 audio cable, making integration into an installed AV system a single-cable task. The ANT 021 antenna provides nominal coverage up to 1,000 feet, and channel lock keeps the system on its commissioned frequency.

Listeners use the four included R37 receivers, each with independent volume control and approximately 50 hours of runtime on the included AA alkaline batteries. The receivers' 3.5 mm stereo/mono jacks accept any low-impedance earphone or headphone, and drive neckloops for telecoil-equipped hearing aids — the connection venues add to meet the ADA's hearing aid compatible receiver requirement. The IDP 008 wall plaque announces assistive listening availability at the entrance, and the system complies with 2010 ADA guidelines for hearing assistance.

If you prefer a turnkey package with earbuds and neckloops included, see the PPA VP 37 value pack with earbuds. Earphones, neckloops, and additional receivers are available in the Williams AV collection at Creation Networks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose the VP 37-00 over the VP 37?

The VP 37-00 omits earbuds and neckloops, which suits facilities that issue their own hygienic single-use earphones, already stock neckloops, or standardize on specific headphones. The VP 37 includes four earbuds and two neckloops if you want a turnkey package.

Which earphones and neckloops work with the receivers?

Any low-impedance earphone or headphone with a 3.5 mm plug works, including Williams Sound EAR 013, EAR 022, and HED 021 models, plus NKL 001 neckloops for telecoil-equipped hearing aids.

How does the system connect to an installed sound system?

The T27's RCA line-level input accepts an unbalanced mono feed from a mixer or DSP output using the included audio cable, with an adjustable attenuator for level matching.

Does this system support ADA compliance?

Yes — it operates on the 72-76 MHz hearing assistance band, includes the required notification plaque, and the receivers are neckloop compatible. Add neckloops to meet the hearing aid compatible receiver counts in current ADA tables for your seating capacity.

Can I expand the receiver count later?

Yes. Any Williams Sound 72-76 MHz wideband receiver tunes to the same channels, and 12- and 20-pack R37 bundles are available for larger venues.

Can this system be used outside the U.S.?

It is FCC approved for U.S. markets and ships with a US-plug power supply. The 72-76 MHz band is not authorized in all countries, so verify local radio regulations first.
