Product Overview
The Williams AV POE KT2 is a passive power-over-Ethernet wiring kit for the IR T2 medium-area infrared transmitter, designed for installations powered by a PoE switch or the POE 001 injector. Alongside PoE power, it carries one signal option to the transmitter — one channel of balanced line-level audio, one or two channels of unbalanced line-level audio, or RS-232 control and monitoring — all over a single cable run.
Product Description
When an IR T2 infrared transmitter is mounted in a ceiling or high on a wall for optimal coverage, network-sourced power is often the cleanest design: the building's PoE switch or a dedicated POE 001 injector supplies power from the rack, and no AC outlet is needed at the device. The POE KT2 provides the connector hardware to make that design work, including the WCA 131 and WCA 132 assemblies that combine and break out power plus the chosen signal at each end of the run. System designers select one balanced line-level audio channel for the cleanest feed from a DSP, one or two unbalanced channels for simpler sources, or an RS-232 link for control-system integration and transmitter monitoring. The single-cable approach keeps plenum pathways simple and makes the IR T2 deployable anywhere structured cabling reaches. For installations using the transmitter's included local power supply instead of PoE, specify the companion POE KT1 kit. The POE KT2 pairs with the IR T2 SoundPlus infrared transmitter and the POE 001 Power-over-Ethernet injector.
