Product Overview
The Williams AV POE 001 is an optional power-over-Ethernet injector for powering compatible Williams AV transmitters, such as the IR T2 infrared transmitter, over structured cabling. It ships with the WLC 004 line cord and inserts PoE power onto a standard Ethernet run, eliminating the need for an AC outlet at the transmitter's mounting location. Integrators specify the POE 001 when transmitters are ceiling- or wall-mounted away from convenient mains power.
Product Description
Infrared assistive listening transmitters perform best when mounted high with clear line of sight to the seating area — exactly where AC outlets rarely exist. The POE 001 solves this by injecting power onto the Ethernet cable already being run to the transmitter, so a single category cable delivers both power and connectivity to the device location. The injector sits at the head-end near the rack or network closet, plugs into mains via the included WLC 004 line cord, and passes PoE down the line to the remote transmitter. In IR T2 installations, the POE 001 is used together with the POE KT2 wiring kit, which breaks out power plus balanced or unbalanced line-level audio or RS-232 control at the transmitter end. This approach reduces electrician involvement, keeps plenum spaces free of AC wiring, and simplifies retrofit projects in finished ceilings. It pairs with the IR T2 SoundPlus infrared transmitter and the POE KT2 wiring kit.
