Product Overview

The Williams AV DWS TGS VIP 12 400 is a two-way wireless tour guide system built around twelve DLT 400 Digi-Wave transceivers, designed for VIP groups and teams where every participant can both talk and listen. Unlike receiver-based packages, every user in this system carries a full transceiver, enabling interactive facility tours, executive walkthroughs, and team teaching with hands-free, full-duplex communication. The system runs on the license-free 2.4 GHz band using digital spread-spectrum frequency hopping, so deployment requires no installation, base station, or frequency coordination. A 12-bay CHG 412 charger and system carry case keep the fleet charged and transport-ready.

Product Description

The Digi-Wave 400 Series is a digital spread-spectrum (DSS), simultaneous two-way wireless communication system. Its frequency-hopping algorithm avoids interference from Wi-Fi and other 2.4 GHz traffic and provides a secure transmission path, with optional 87+128-bit encryption, an encryption PIN, and a settings lock for confidential environments. Each of the twelve DLT 400 transceivers includes a built-in microphone, and twelve MIC 144 headset microphones are supplied for hands-free operation during active tours and team guiding.

In intercom mode, up to six people can speak simultaneously while an unlimited number listen — ideal for two or more tour guides combining skills and guiding as a team, or for production and event crews that need a wireless intercom without rack-mount infrastructure. The same hardware supports language interpretation with one floor language and up to 14 translated languages, and standard one-way guided tours where the group can ask questions back to the guide. Operating range reaches up to 900 ft (274 m) depending on site conditions, and audio quality holds at 73 dB SNR with 0.1% THD.

Each transceiver runs up to 16 hours of talk time on its internal lithium polymer battery and drops into the included CHG 412 12-bay charger for an approximately five-hour recharge. The CCS 042 carry case, grey and black silicone skins, and headset microphones round out a package that moves between venues as a single kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the VIP 12 different from other Digi-Wave tour guide systems?

Most Digi-Wave tour guide packages pair one transceiver with listen-only receivers. The VIP 12 supplies twelve full DLT 400 transceivers, so every participant can talk as well as listen — suited to team guiding, executive tours, and interactive training.

How many people can talk at the same time?

Up to six users can speak simultaneously in intercom mode, while an unlimited number of additional units can listen.

Does the system require an FCC license or any installation?

No. It operates license-free on the 2.4 GHz ISM band with digital spread-spectrum frequency hopping, and there is no base station or rack-mount equipment to install or commission.

Can I add listen-only receivers for larger audiences?

Yes. The DLT 400 is compatible with DLR 400 RCH and DLR 400 ALK receivers, so you can scale the listening audience without adding transceivers.

Is the audio secure enough for confidential walkthroughs?

Yes. The system supports optional 87+128-bit encryption with an encryption PIN and a settings lock, appropriate for government, corporate, and legal environments.

How do the transceivers recharge?

All twelve units drop into the included CHG 412 12-bay charger and recharge in approximately five hours. Units can also charge individually via USB-C.

What warranty does Williams AV provide?

The system carries a 2-year warranty against component failure and manufacturing defects, with 6 months on internal batteries and 90 days on cables and power supplies.
