Product Overview
The Williams AV DLR 400 ALK is an alkaline-battery wireless receiver for Digi-Wave 400 systems, used as the listen-only endpoint for language interpretation, guided tours, assistive listening, and intercom monitoring. Running up to 30 hours on two standard AAA batteries, it suits venues that prefer field-swappable power over managed charging stations. The receiver pairs with any DLT 400 transceiver over an encrypted, license-free 2.4 GHz link.
Product Description
The DLR 400 ALK receives digital spread-spectrum (DSS) audio from Digi-Wave DLT 400 transceivers in the 2.4 GHz ISM band, using a frequency-hopping algorithm to avoid interference from venue Wi-Fi and other RF traffic — with no FCC licensing or frequency coordination required. The encrypted link keeps interpreted and assistive audio private, a relevant consideration for courtrooms, government briefings, and corporate sessions. At 1.7 ounces without batteries, the compact ABS housing carries an LCD showing battery level, signal strength, and group/channel number, so staff can verify a unit's status before handing it to a guest. The 3.5 mm TRRS jack delivers mono output to headphones, earphones, or a telecoil neckloop, supporting hearing assistance and ADA compliance programs alongside interpretation duty — the Digi-Wave platform carries one floor language plus up to 14 interpreted languages. Because the DLR 400 ALK runs on two AAA alkaline batteries, venues can swap power in seconds mid-event and avoid investing in charging infrastructure, which is practical for occasional-use receiver pools and rental inventories. It is compatible with both DLT 400 and DLT 300 transceivers. Pair it with the DLT 400 transceiver as the audio source, or choose the rechargeable DLR 400 RCH for fleets with daily turnaround on a drop-in charger.
Key Features

- License-Free Operation — The 2.4 GHz ISM band requires no FCC license or frequency coordination at any deployment site.
- Neckloop and Headphone Output — The 3.5 mm TRRS mono jack (27 mW max @ 32 ohms) drives headphones, earphones, or telecoil neckloops for assistive listening programs.
- Status LCD — Battery level, RSSI signal strength, and group/channel number are visible at a glance for staff issuing units.
- 900-Foot Range — Reception up to 274 m (site dependent) covers auditoriums, tour routes, and multi-room facilities.
