Product Overview
The Visix Choros PoE Adapter for Availability Light is an optional accessory that enables the Choros Availability Light to be powered via Power over Ethernet rather than battery. For facilities where a wired Ethernet run is available at or near the room entrance, the PoE Adapter eliminates the need for battery management and provides continuous, reliable power to the Availability Light. This adapter is an accessory only — the Availability Light hardware itself is sold separately at creationnetworks.net/products/visix-choros-availability-light.
Product Description
By default, the Choros Availability Light (SKU: VX-A-AVA) operates on battery power, supporting cable-free deployment anywhere in a facility. When wired Ethernet infrastructure is available near a room entrance and a facilities team prefers to eliminate battery replacement cycles, the PoE Adapter provides an alternative power path. The adapter connects between the Ethernet run at the installation point and the Availability Light, drawing power over the Ethernet cable to keep the light running continuously without batteries.
The Availability Light communicates with the Choros cloud via LoRaWAN through the facility's Choros Gateway (SKU: VX-A-GW1) — the Ethernet connection provided by the PoE Adapter is used for power only, not for light-to-cloud data communication. This means facilities can mix battery-powered and PoE-powered Availability Lights within the same deployment, using PoE where cabling is already in place and battery power where it is not. Each Availability Light also requires an Annual License for Availability Light (SKU: VX-A-LAV) and the facility must have an active Choros Gateway. An optional Wall Mount Bracket (SKU: VX-A-ABK) is also available for wall-mounting the Availability Light.
