Product Overview

The Visix Choros Availability Light is an ultra-low-power IoT LED indicator designed to provide instant, at-a-glance room availability status outside meeting rooms and shared spaces. The dome-shaped light displays red when a space is occupied and green when it is available, pulling real-time booking data directly from the Choros cloud platform via LoRaWAN wireless communication. No app, no screen, and no network cabling is required at the light itself — just a clear visual signal that staff can read from down the hall. The Availability Light works in conjunction with the Choros QR space booking system to provide a combined visual and mobile booking experience for conference rooms, huddle rooms, and other shared spaces.

Product Description

The Visix Choros Availability Light delivers real-time room status at the door without the cost or complexity of a full room sign display. Designed as a complement to the Choros WebAR QR space booking platform, the light communicates over LoRaWAN — a long-range, low-power wireless protocol — to receive status updates from the Choros cloud and display the current booking state of the space. Red means occupied; green means available. The 360-degree visible dome design ensures the light is readable from any approach angle, reducing the need for staff to walk up to a door to check availability.

Each Availability Light draws only 0.6 watts when active and 0.08 watts in standby, making it one of the most energy-efficient space status indicators available. The low power consumption enables flexible deployment options: lights can be powered via battery or via Power over Ethernet using the optional PoE Adapter (SKU: VX-A-PEA). Wall mounting is supported with the optional Wall Mount Bracket (SKU: VX-A-ABK). A Choros Gateway for Availability Lights (SKU: VX-A-GW1) is required for each facility — the gateway bridges LoRaWAN communication between the lights and the Choros cloud. Each light also requires an Annual License for Availability Light (SKU: VX-A-LAV) to remain active in the Choros system after the first year. Because the Availability Light operates over LoRaWAN and requires no Wi-Fi connection or on-premise server, it is straightforward to deploy in facilities where running network cabling to every door is not practical.
