Product Overview

The Visionary Solutions DuetE-WP-BT is a 4K UHD AV over IP wall plate encoder that combines video encoding, Dante/AES67 network audio, and built-in Bluetooth audio bridging in a 2-gang Decora-style faceplate. Designed for conference room installation, lectern and floor-box source points, and commercial AV over IP integration, it delivers video and audio over a single PoE-powered category cable. The integrated Bluetooth bridge eliminates the separate AV Bluetooth hardware normally required for soft-codec conferencing audio.

Product Description

The DuetE-WP-BT mounts in a standard 2-gang US or UK back box — wall, tabletop, lectern, or floor box — with no modification, and connects to the network with a single category cable carrying PoE power, 4K UHD video, Dante/AES67 audio, and control. Its 45-degree exit RJ-45 connector preserves cable bend radius inside shallow electrical boxes, a detail integrators appreciate during rough-in. The HDMI input accepts sources up to 4K60 4:2:0, which the encoder compresses with a JPEG2000-based visually lossless codec at roughly one frame of latency. Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity supports both A2DP media streaming and the Hands-Free Profile, so a presenter's phone or laptop audio can be bridged bi-directionally into a web conference or onto the Dante network — useful for conference room soft-codec integration without extra bridging hardware. A single front-panel button manages pairing with LED status, with Manual, Auto, and Private pairing modes, and the button can be disabled for restricted-use environments under third-party control. A rear-panel Euroblock provides a balanced stereo line output from Dante or de-embedded HDMI audio to feed a local amplifier or DSP. VLAN tagging isolates AV traffic on the corporate network, and enterprise security includes AES stream encryption, 802.1x, HTTPS, and SSH. Video and audio route independently, so the same wall plate can feed video to displays while its audio matrix follows a different path. The unit is fanless and silent, drawing 12 W typical. For 4K60 4:4:4 sub-frame latency in new 5-Series systems, see the DuetE5-WP-BT wall plate encoder.

Key Features

  • Single-Cable Wall Plate Design — One PoE category cable carries 4K UHD video, Dante/AES67 audio, and control, simplifying conference room installation.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Bridge — A2DP streaming and HFP bi-directional smartphone bridging feed wireless audio into the AV stream or Dante network for soft-codec conferencing.
  • Dante/AES67 Embedding and De-Embedding — Up to 4 channels of network audio input and 2 channels of output integrate directly with professional audio systems.
  • Balanced Analog Line Output — Rear-panel Euroblock feeds local amplifiers or DSPs with audio from Dante or de-embedded HDMI.
  • One-Button Pairing with LED Status — Manual, Auto, and Private pairing modes, with the option to disable the button for controlled environments.
  • Visually Lossless 4K Encoding — JPEG2000-based compression delivers approximately one frame of latency at 17 ms @ 1080p60 and 4K60 4:2:0.
  • Independent AV Routing — Video and audio (including Bluetooth and Dante/AES67) matrix separately across the network.
  • Enterprise Security — AES stream encryption, 802.1x authentication, HTTPS secure API, and SSH protect AV traffic on converged networks.
  • 45-Degree RJ-45 Exit — Maintains category cable bend radius inside standard 2-gang back boxes.
  • Fanless, Silent Operation — Convection cooling with zero acoustic noise suits acoustically sensitive meeting spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

What decoders work with the DuetE-WP-BT?
The DuetE-WP-BT streams to Visionary PacketAV Matrix Series decoders over any industry-standard Gigabit IP network, on either the enterprise LAN or a dedicated AV network.

How is the unit powered?
It is powered by standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) over the same category cable that carries video, audio, and control — no local power supply is required at the wall plate.

Does it fit a standard electrical box?
Yes. It installs in a standard 2-gang US or UK back box with no modification and mounts into standard Decora-style wall plates, in walls, floor boxes, table boxes, or lecterns.

Can the Bluetooth input feed my Dante audio system?
Yes. The Bluetooth audio bridge embeds wireless audio into the AV stream and/or simultaneously onto the Dante/AES67 network, including bi-directional phone bridging via the Hands-Free Profile for conference calls.

How is it controlled in an integrated system?
Vision Lite control software, third-party drivers for Crestron, QSC, Symetrix, and RTI, and a full API for qualified system integrators are available.

Can Bluetooth pairing be locked down?
Yes. The pairing button can be disabled for restricted-use applications managed by a third-party control system, and Private pairing mode is available.
