Product Overview
The Visionary Solutions PacketAV D4200 is a 4K UHD AV over IP decoder with PoE+ that delivers cinema-quality, ultra-low latency video to any display on a standard Gigabit network. Built for commercial AV installation, it supports conference room presentation, digital signage distribution, and enterprise video routing without the constraints of a traditional switch matrix. A USB-C output bridges decoded AV into soft-codec conferencing platforms, and the unit is upgradeable to Dante/AES67 networked audio with a separately purchased PacketAV module. Pair it with the matching E4200 encoder for end-to-end distribution.
Product Description
The D4200 decodes JPEG2000-based, visually lossless streams from Visionary 4-Series encoders and outputs scaled video up to 4K30 4:4:4 over HDMI, with automatic 4K-in/1080p-out and 1080p-in/4K-out conversion. Latency of approximately one frame keeps live camera feeds and presenter video in step with in-room audio, which matters in training rooms and commercial meeting spaces. The UVC-compliant USB-C output presents the decoded stream to a connected PC as a driverless capture device, so teams can record sessions, stream to online platforms, or feed Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx without separate AV bridging hardware.
A single PoE+ network drop carries video, audio, USB, and control, while the Ethernet expansion port (PSE) passes network connectivity and PoE through to displays, projectors, or control touch panels downstream. Integrators can independently route video, audio, USB, IR, and RS-232, and the built-in video wall processor supports arrays up to 16x16 with rotation using commodity displays. Enterprise security — AES-128 stream encryption, 802.1x authentication, HTTPS API, and SSH — aligns the D4200 with corporate and government network policies. Mass configuration through the embedded web UI, LLDP, and QoS support simplify large rollouts, and control integration is available through Vision Lite software and third-party drivers for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI.

Key Features
- 4K UHD over 1GbE — Decodes cinema-quality video on standard Gigabit networks with no fiber or 10G switches required.
- Ultra-Low Latency — Approximately one frame (17 ms @ 1080p60 and 4K60 4:2:0) for live, synchronized AV distribution.
- USB-C Soft-Codec Bridge — UVC-compliant USB-C output feeds decoded AV into conferencing and recording applications as a driverless device.
- Upgradeable to Dante/AES67 — Add the separately purchased PacketAV Dante/AES67 module for networked audio embedding and de-embedding.
- Single PoE+ Network Drop — One CAT5e/6 cable delivers video, audio, USB, control, and power for fast commercial installation.
- Ethernet Expansion Port with PoE Pass-Through — Networks and powers downstream displays and touch panels from one LAN drop.
- Integrated Scaler — Automatic resolution conversion between 4K and 1080p simplifies mixed-display deployments.
- Built-In Video Wall Processing — Supports video walls up to 16x16 with rotation, with no external processor required.
- KVM, RS-232, IR, CEC, and GPIO over IP — Extends peripheral and device control to any endpoint on the network.
- Enterprise Security — AES-128 stream encryption, 802.1x, HTTPS API, and SSH meet corporate IT requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which encoder pairs with the D4200?
The E4200 encoder is the direct companion, and the D4200 also interoperates with other Visionary 4-Series encoders such as the DuetE-2.
Is Dante audio included?
The D4200 is upgradeable to Dante/AES67 with a separately purchased PacketAV Dante/AES67 module. If you need Dante out of the box, consider the DuetD-2 decoder.
What network infrastructure is required?
Standard IGMP-capable Gigabit Ethernet switches and CAT5e/6 cabling. The D4200 can run on an existing enterprise LAN or a dedicated private AV network.
Can it feed video conferencing software?
Yes. The UVC-compliant USB-C output connects to a PC as a driverless capture device for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, and recording or streaming software.
How is the D4200 powered?
Via PoE on the main LAN port (standard PoE, 15 W or lower). Supplying PoE+ enables PoE pass-through to devices on the Ethernet expansion port.
Does it integrate with control systems?
Yes. Vision Lite control software is included, and third-party drivers are available for Crestron, Q-SYS, Symetrix, and RTI; an API is offered to qualified system integrators.
