What is the Uniguest 796?
The Uniguest 796 is an IP Multi-Mux gateway blade for Uniguest MediaStar IPTV systems. It receives externally delivered IP TV channels and re-transmits them across the building network with AES encryption on up to 20 channels at once.
How does the Uniguest 796 work?
The 796 takes unicast or multicast UDP MPEG2 transport streams, such as channels from a cable or satellite provider delivered over IP, and redistributes them as encrypted unicast or multicast streams up to 600 Mbps. A browser-based GUI makes channel selection simple, and Media Manager integration keeps it managed with the rest of the headend. It is a hot-swappable blade that retains its settings.
