The Shure SM86 is a rugged cardioid condenser vocal microphone engineered for professional live performance. It combines studio-quality sound with the durability needed for touring and stage use. The condenser cartridge delivers clear, detailed vocal reproduction with an extended high-frequency response tailored for vocals, while the cardioid polar pattern minimizes unwanted background noise and provides excellent gain-before-feedback.
Built-in features include a three-point shock mount to reduce handling noise and a two-stage pop filter to minimize wind and breath sounds. The microphone requires 11–52 V phantom power and is ideal for both main vocal duties and use with stage monitors or personal monitoring systems.
