The Shure MX424/N is a 24-inch gooseneck microphone supplied without a cartridge, built for commercial AV installations where the talker sits farther from the mounting surface and the integrator specifies the polar pattern. The extra reach makes this gooseneck microphone a practical choice for lecterns, pulpits, and conference room integration. Fit an R185 cardioid, R184 supercardioid, or R183 omnidirectional capsule to match the room.
Product Description
The MX424/N provides the 24-inch gooseneck body and attached preamp, as shown in the product image, while leaving the cartridge choice to the AV system designer, which is useful when standardizing one long-reach microphone body across rooms with different coverage needs. Its balanced, transformerless output maintains a clean signal across the long cable runs common in distributed commercial AV systems, and Shure CommShield technology rejects RF interference from nearby mobile devices. The microphone ships with a complete installation kit including a shock-mount and flange-mount adapter and a snap-fit foam windscreen for fast table and lectern installation. Cartridges are interchangeable, so coverage can be retuned later without replacing the gooseneck.
