Product Overview
The Shure MX418S/N is an 18-inch gooseneck microphone with a silent mute switch and LED indicator, supplied without a cartridge so the integrator specifies the polar pattern. With an attached preamp and balanced XLR output, this gooseneck microphone is a flexible base for conference room integration, lecterns, and government meeting spaces. Fit an R185 cardioid, R184 supercardioid, or R183 omnidirectional capsule to match the room.
Product Description
The MX418S/N provides the 18-inch gooseneck, attached preamp, and a base-mounted silent mute switch with status LED, as shown in the product image, while leaving the cartridge choice to the AV system designer. This is useful when standardizing one switched microphone body across rooms with different coverage needs. Its balanced, transformerless output maintains a clean signal across the long cable runs common in distributed commercial AV systems, and Shure CommShield technology rejects RF interference from nearby mobile devices. The microphone ships with a complete installation kit including a shock-mount and flange-mount adapter and a snap-fit foam windscreen. Cartridges are interchangeable, so coverage can be retuned later. For a furnished-cartridge switch version, compare it with the Shure MX418SC or the no-switch Shure MX418/N.
