The MX405R/MS combines an interchangeable mini-shotgun cartridge with a 12.7 cm (5 in) gooseneck, a top red light ring, and the MX400SMP surface-mount preamp for permanent table or lectern mounting. The narrow lobar pickup isolates a single talker, improving intelligibility in reverberant rooms and high-channel-count conference systems. The preamp integrates with automatic mixers and DSPs for gated, logic-controlled operation, and the LED ring signals talk and mute status. CommShield RF filtering protects against mobile and wireless interference, while a switchable 150 Hz low-cut filter reduces HVAC rumble.
