Product Description
The BETA 91A is an electret condenser boundary microphone tailored for kick drums, piano, and other bass-heavy instruments. Its uniform half-cardioid polar pattern — cardioid in the hemisphere above the mounting surface — maximizes gain-before-feedback and rejects off-axis sound, which benefits multi-microphone stage and broadcast installations. A wide dynamic range handles extremely high sound pressure levels without distortion, and the two-position contour switch lets AV technicians scoop the low-mids for added attack and punch without external processing. The integrated preamplifier and XLR connector reduce stage clutter and provide a fast, secure setup for integrators. As shown in the product images, the low-profile die-cast metal body with steel grille sits flat inside a kick drum and withstands the demands of daily commercial deployment.
