The BETA 52A is a precision dynamic microphone shaped specifically for kick drums and other bass instruments. A neodymium magnet provides high output and strong signal-to-noise performance, while the modified supercardioid kick mic pattern maintains gain before feedback in loud stage environments. The microphone handles extremely high sound pressure levels without distortion, so close-miked kick drums retain definition and low-end weight. A pneumatic shock mount system reduces transmission of mechanical noise and vibration, and the die-cast metal body with hardened steel mesh grille withstands years of use.
