Product Overview
The Shure AD4D-DCTA=-B is a TAA-compliant Axient Digital two-channel wireless receiver with an integrated DC power module, operating in Band B (606–810 MHz). It delivers transparent digital audio with Dante networking, AES3 digital output, AES-256 encryption, and High Density (HD) mode in a 1U rack-mount form factor. The DC power module enables redundant power connectivity for mission-critical government, broadcast, and commercial AV installations. Compatible with all Axient Digital AD and ADX series transmitters operating in Band B.
Product Description
The AD4D-DCTA=-B delivers the full Axient Digital RF and audio capability in a TAA-compliant, Band B (606–810 MHz) rack-mount package with DC power module for redundant power supply. The 204 MHz tuning range within Band B allows system designers to coordinate frequencies across a wide swath of commercial UHF spectrum, maximizing the number of deployable channels in congested RF environments. Two independent receiver channels each provide true digital diversity reception with 2.08 ms latency (Standard mode) and 130 dB A-weighted dynamic range on digital outputs. High Density mode supports up to 47 active transmitters per 6 MHz TV channel, ideal for commercial conference facilities, broadcast studios, and government spaces with high wireless channel counts. Four Ethernet ports (Dante Primary/Secondary plus two control ports) in Switched or Split/Redundant modes integrate directly into commercial AV IP networks managed by Wireless Workbench or AMX/Crestron control systems.

For compatible TAA-compliant handheld transmitters in the K54 sub-band, see the Shure AD2TA/SM58=-K54 or Shure AD2TA/K9N=-K54.
Key Features
- TAA Compliance with DC Power Module — Meets Trade Agreements Act requirements for federal procurement, with DC power module for redundant power in broadcast and commercial AV rack installations.
- Two-Channel True Digital Diversity Reception — Each channel maintains a stable RF link with true digital diversity and cascade ports to pass signal to one additional same-band receiver.
- Band B Tuning (606–810 MHz) — Wide tuning range within Band B enables frequency coordination across over 200 MHz of commercial UHF spectrum.
- Dante, AES3, and AES67 Digital Audio Output — Supports multiple digital audio formats for integration into commercial AV and broadcast infrastructure.
- 130 dB A-Weighted Dynamic Range (Digital Output) — Delivers transparent digital audio performance exceeding the requirements of professional commercial AV deployments.
- AES-256 Encryption — Hardware encryption on all receiver channels secures audio in government and enterprise environments.
- High Density Mode — 125 kHz channel spacing supports up to 47 active transmitters per 6 MHz TV channel for dense commercial wireless systems.
- 2.08 ms Latency (Standard Mode) — Low-latency digital audio path compatible with commercial AV system timing requirements.
- 1U Rack-Mount Form Factor — Integrates into standard EIA commercial AV equipment racks.
- Up to 8 Registered Transmitters per Channel — Enables flexible transmitter pooling and quick changeovers for broadcast and live event applications.
- AMX, Crestron, and Wireless Workbench Integration — Supports third-party control systems and Shure’s own network management software for comprehensive commercial AV integration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What transmitters are compatible with the AD4D-DCTA=-B?
Compatible with all Shure Axient Digital AD and ADX series transmitters operating in Band B (606–810 MHz), including AD2, ADX2, AD1, ADX1, and ADX2FD. Verify that the transmitter’s band designation matches Band B before deployment.
What is the DC power module and why is it included?
The DC module accepts 10.9–14.8V DC at up to 3.3A as a secondary power source alongside the standard AC supply, enabling true power redundancy. This is critical for broadcast facilities, government operations centers, and enterprise conference rooms where continuous uninterrupted operation is required.
What does TAA compliance mean for procurement?
TAA compliance qualifies this product for GSA Schedule and federal contract procurement under the Trade Agreements Act, required for government and institutional commercial AV installations.
How does this receiver integrate with a Dante network?
The AD4D-DCTA=-B provides Dante Primary and Secondary Ethernet ports. In Switched mode, all four Ethernet ports carry both Dante audio and Shure control traffic on a single network infrastructure. In Split/Redundant mode, Dante and control are separated for network isolation. Use Dante Controller to route audio to any networked destination.
What control systems does this receiver support?
The receiver supports Shure Wireless Workbench 6 (PC/Mac), Wireless Workbench Mobile (iOS/Android), AMX, Crestron, and any third-party system communicating via TCP/IP on the control network. All control signals share the same Ethernet infrastructure as the audio network.
What warranty applies?
Shure provides a two-year limited warranty on the AD4D receiver. Contact Shure or your authorized commercial AV dealer for service and RMA procedures.
