Product Overview
The Renkus-Heinz SA118-RD-WR is a self-powered 18-inch subwoofer with redundant Dante, engineered for permanent outdoor and networked commercial installations. Its factory weather-resistant cabinet and integrated SA2000-RD amplifier module deliver up to 2000 W with onboard DSP, full RHAON II control, and dual (primary/secondary) Dante network connections including AES67 compatibility. The compact, high-excursion design provides deep, tight low frequency from 32 Hz, making it a flexible install subwoofer for stadiums, houses of worship, and covered outdoor venues. As a networked subwoofer, it adds redundant digital audio distribution to any Renkus-Heinz loudspeaker system.
Product Description

The SA118-RD-WR mounts a single SSL18-11 18-inch woofer in an ultra-compact 19 mm Lite Ply enclosure with large, low-turbulence ports that keep high-output bass free of chuffing. The integrated SA2000-RD amplifier module supplies 2000 W at 8 ohms, optimal woofer damping, and factory-tuned multi-band limiting, eliminating the rack space and speaker cabling of an external amplifier. RD models add Dante digital signal distribution with AES67 compatibility and full network redundancy: two RJ45 ports carry primary and secondary Dante plus RHAON II control on a single or redundant Ethernet network.
Onboard DSP, accessed over RHAON II from a Windows workstation, includes eight fully parametric EQ filters, high and low shelving, high- and low-pass filters, and up to 340 ms of delay, with a 100 Hz active crossover. Sixteen M10 universal mounting points and an M20 pole socket support both flown and pole-mounted deployment, and the weather-resistant treatment suits covered outdoor sites (operating to 140°F with no direct sun exposure). For a smaller footprint, pair it with the SA112-RD-WR; for a dual-18 alternative, see the CA118S-RD. Browse the full Renkus-Heinz loudspeaker range for matching tops.
Key Features
- Self-powered 18-inch subwoofer — A single high-excursion SSL18-11 woofer in an ultra-compact ported cabinet delivers deep, tight low frequency for large spaces.
- SA2000-RD amplifier module — An onboard 2000 W amplifier with optimal damping and multi-band limiting removes external amplifier cost, rack space, and speaker cabling.
- Redundant Dante networking — Primary and secondary Dante ports with AES67 compatibility provide fault-tolerant digital audio distribution across the system.
- RHAON II control and monitoring — Configure DSP, recall presets, and monitor status remotely over standard Ethernet from a Windows workstation.
- Onboard multi-channel DSP — Eight parametric EQ bands, shelving, high/low-pass filters, and up to 340 ms delay with a 100 Hz active crossover allow precise alignment.
- Weather-resistant construction — A factory WR treatment suits covered outdoor and high-humidity installations, operating to 140°F without direct sun exposure.
- Flexible mounting — Sixteen M10 universal points and an M20 pole socket support flown, ground-stacked, and pole-mounted use.
Typical Applications
- Auditorium — Adds low-frequency foundation for full-range reinforcement in performing arts centers and large halls.
- House of worship — Delivers controlled, uncolored sub-bass for music and program audio.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the RD designation mean?
RD indicates the SA2000-RD amplifier with redundant Dante — primary and secondary Dante network ports (AES67 compatible) plus RHAON II control, for fault-tolerant digital audio distribution. Analog and AES inputs are also provided.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes. The WR treatment suits covered outdoor and high-humidity sites, with an operating maximum of 140°F and no direct sun exposure. Follow Renkus-Heinz mounting and environmental guidelines.
Does it need an external amplifier or processor?
No. The SA2000-RD amplifier and DSP are built in, so the subwoofer needs only power and a signal feed (analog, AES, or Dante).
How does it integrate with a networked AV system?
Connect via redundant Dante and manage DSP, presets, and monitoring over RHAON II from a Windows workstation. It combines with Renkus-Heinz tops on the same network for unified control.
What warranty and support are included?
The subwoofer is covered by the Renkus-Heinz manufacturer warranty. Contact the Creation Networks team for current warranty terms, system design, and post-installation support.
